Landing the A380-800 [Poll]

I agree with you it’s better to have a heavy plane about 70% loaded but when on final I like it be below MLW

It is like the easiest plane to land. Don’t even need to flare and its still smooth. This is why I like the erj when windy, more challenging

Behold my A380 landing at KLAX!

Looks like you were too high in approach?

@B767fan wow, what a consolation. I thought I was the only one missing the centre line |:-)

The landing was smooth though. I find it easier to land than the propellers. I flew last week’s Palmdale FNF and crashed the propeller on landing the first time around.

I did another one where I was slam bang in the centre! yeah, it was smooth although I did a few better ones in KSFO.

@Fabian-BB I guess I was, I didn’t think it was that high though.

I find landing the A380 is hard but once you get use to landing the beast You never get bored.

Strange… I have always thought it was easier to land than anything else…

Are you yoking?
The A380 is the easiest plane to land in IF!

Speeds depend on your weight, real world A380s land with about 135 kts.
The answer to the “how far” question is called Top of descent and is easily findable in this forum.

The gears were rolling, means that it wasn’t the first try ;)

Anyway, you weren’t aligned, looks like the A/P was on, very early flare and not the smoothest landing.

People really don’t like that kind of response. You would flare a bigger plane earlier as well. Roughly 50 for these super heavies. Any further critique for things you are not right about?

@divebuddha @Makeaflightforfun You guys have always to argue with me.
In this case the landing wasn’t that good, surely, there are no doubts.
I can’t say “hey, well done, perfect!” if it is not.

I’m in a aviation high school since four year, I have simulator lessons nearly every day, so I know how to land a plane in the right way.
But honestly, you only need to watch a YT vid of a real landing or the IF Autoland to see the difference.
