Landing in Antartica!

Landing in Antartica after simulating a scientific flight from New Zealand in a generic 757.

Not sure how often such flight’s are flown but if you think you’ve mastered landing at a typical airport I definitely recommend trying this flight into NZIR.
The runway is made up of ice and there is no ILS system in place to guide you.
It proves quite difficult when you realise you don’t have the runway in sight on final.

Total flight time: 4hrs 33mins
Cruise alt: FL380
Mach: 0.80 - 0.84

Fuerza Aérea Argentina flies regularly with C-130s and Twin Otters into Base Marambio in Argentina’s part of Antarctica. They’re resupply flights.

Nice photos! I forgot NZIR was 3D and it looks rather interesting…

Landing at the airport in the polls are extremely hard because it is super hard to see the runway.

Antarctica is a cool place to land at, when you have experience and good eyes/ luminosity on your phone. The fact that this airport is 3D make it phenomenal 🚀.

I was flaps full check look closely at the picture on short final

Do not pull a me and take a A380 into it, no room to park. Thinking a herky bird flight is coming soon.
