[Landed safely] Possible Aeroflot emergency?

Aeroflot 103 from JFK to Moscow appears to have some issue, but is not squawking 7700. It departed northeast 55 minutes ago before turning west and flying several holds. It is currently level at 7000 feet. Any ideas?

Could be a medical emergency or a technical fault

Perhaps in a hold waiting for airspace to clear in the direction they’re headed? Not sure there.

I looked it up and it says that JFK is experiencing departure issues with an average of 34 minutes. Hope this helps. I have to go.

That’s ground delay time, this is unusual because it’s in the air.

Hoping everything will end good.

Wow 34 minutes delayđŸ˜± That’s a big deal

It appears to still be holding right now.

I’d hate to be on that flight right now.

He is on NY Approach (NOBBI/NYACK/HAARP) http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=khpn_ny_app_nobbi&icao=khpn

I just heard “Aeroflot 103 Heavy, I honestly have no idea what you just said to me. I’m just assuming you want to keep flying around to burn fuel until you go back. Just say yes or no.” LOL

Maybe a gear failure? Hopefully nothing damaging the plane or hurting the passengers.

So clearly some sort of issue. I wonder why he can’t just dump it though.

@AR_AR my flash doesn’t work, can you provide a link to the MP3?

could it because they’re over NY?

i cant hear the pilots so is this just ATC comm?

No, I doubt it. The SID should allow him to depart straight north.

Because they are circling above New York

I’m pretty sure I just heard, “Fuel dumping approved.”

He could go out over the Long Island Sound like most NY fuel dump emergencies do.

Do you have a link to the frequency?
