Laggy performance

My phone is experiencing graphic problems I put my graphics setting on low/high/medium and limited frame rate I even tried low but its still laggy
Device: Honor 10 lite

Hello,
These are the tips for laggy performance. :)

What do I do if I experience app crashes or lag?

General tips regardless of device:

  • Turn Limit Frame Rate ON (box should be ticked) if you notice that your device tends to heat up or if you are experiencing lag. A device that heats up too much is more likely to suffer performance degradation which could lead to lag and app crashes.
  • Infinite Flight doesn’t take up a specific amount of storage, it can change depending on the area you’re flying in etc. We therefore recommend that you always have at least 1GB of storage available on your device.
  • Before longer flights, it is advised to reboot your device and close any apps running in the background to enhance your experience.
  • It is possible to fly and charge the device at the same time. The key to this is to use less power than being charged. One way to accomplish this is lower your screen brightness and ensure Infinite Flight’s low power mode is enabled.
  • Disable active ad or message blocking apps
  • Don’t modify, ā€œRootā€, or ā€œJailbreakā€ your device
  • Use a strong WiFi network within a relatively close proximity to your device
  • Lower Infinite Flight graphics and performance settings
    1. Lower the Rendering Resolution setting.
    2. Disable Anti-Aliasing.
    3. Lower the Rendering Quality setting.
    4. Lower the Texture Quality setting.

At any point if you’re experiencing decreased performance, ā€œLimit frame rateā€ should always be ticked. This setting can have a great negative impact on performance unless your device is considered high performance.

General iOS tips:

  • One great thing to do before launching Infinite Flight, is to perform a soft restart of the device. This is a quick and reliable way of making sure your device is operating at peak efficiency. This is done by holding down the power/lock button until you see ā€œSlide to power offā€. Then hold down the home button until you’re returned to the home screen. For iOS devices without a Home button, a restart is recommended as the soft restart feature does not exist on those.
  • Make sure you don’t have ā€œLow power modeā€ on your iPhone. If you have, the battery icon in the top right corner is yellow. This can be deactivated from Settings → Battery, or from ā€œControl Centerā€ depending on how you have it set up. Having ā€œLow power modeā€ enabled while using Infinite Flight could result in a performance degradation.
Note : This is not the same as ā€œLow power modeā€ in Infinite Flight. This is a device function.

General Android tips:

  • Make sure you have Android Battery Saver disabled. Having this enabled can cause a lot of degradation in terms of both storage, performance and network.
  • Newer Android devices may work fine with Anti-Aliasing on. Turning this off can help performance for older/less powerful Android models.
  • Some devices (ie Samsung) may have a Game Tuner app to enhance the performance of games. While some users have not seen an issue there is a number who have. It is best to run IF by itself instead of through a game tuner.

If none of the suggestions above helps:

As a final resort, reset the device to factory settings. Be sure to back up all important data on your device first.

This is exactly what I just did but it didn’t work and I have enough ram and storage.

I may be wrong, so please correct me if I am,

Your device is a life version of the standard Honor 10, it’s Mali-G51 MP4 is quite underpowered coming in comparable to an adreno 400-508 series GPU chip, which is quite underpowered. To further that, your phone’s CPU is also somewhat underpowered. It may simply be that your device is struggling to handle the simulator at updated graphics.

Have you noticed this issue before or on any other apps?

What do you have running in the background that could affect performance?

What steps have you already taken to rectify the issue?

I use a kirin 710. My other apps work as a charm.even Minecraft.I have the same mali and chipset with the huawei p30 lite

Well the simple suggestion is to try a app reset, in a worst case scenario there may be an issue with the app install on your device.

Btw, Minecraft isn’t a task to run šŸ˜‰

The only other thing I could recommend is downloading 3D mark on the app store to see if both of your phone’s get an equal value. If not, it may be that your 10 lite is slowing down and may require a factory reset, the absolute last resort.

I only have this phone for one week

I can’t really think of a further solution unfortunately without you being able to test if your device is slowing down or not. Perhaps if it’s just for one week, it may be worth waiting until you get the other device back

I did the slingshot and I didn’t get any solid fps.

Which version of slingshot were you using? There are a couple…

And also what score did you get? I have a rough estimation of the FPS and score you should have achieved?

1222 graphics score:1078
Physics score:2297

Your score is actually above the average for devices with similar hardware… Could it simply be an optimisation issue with the app then?

I think soo

(forgive the tag) @schyllberg I’m out of ideas… Have you guys done any testing with this device or had any similar reports?

Can you describe what you are calling laggy performance?

Are you on cellular or wifi?

WiFi I am getting medium to small stuttering of graphics mostly when I change the camera to normal.

No testing I’m afraid.

Scattered reports of issues with Huawei devices, yes. The unique chipset they generally use works quite bad with Infinite Flight it seems. And the current situation going on with Huawei doesn’t really make it better…

Honor play perfect. I believe the honor phones use a different chip šŸ‘šŸ» the honor line or atleast the honor play uses the Kirin 970 SoC but the 10 lite uses the Kirin 659. It shouldn’t be any different. So why they have a difference is surprising since I run the game with absolutely no issues. There is dev options in the phone

I’m not sure if these would help.

You could try forcing 4X MSAA or checking what the phone is using to render. There is another one openGL called kinder (something like that) probably try the regular openGL.

Unfortunately none of the options actually do anything to improve performance whilst gaming… Forcing 4xMSAA is completely pointless as Infinite Flight relies on OpenGL 3, Changing the GPU renderer will actually prevent infinite flight from being able to boot, and the animation/duration scale refers to android itself, they have no boost to performance outside of the main OS.

To further, the difference between the Kirin 710 and 970 is actually more substantial than you would believe… Whilst the 710 has an octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.7 GHz Cortex A53), the 970 has an Octa-core (4x2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex A53). The performance difference there is a fair gap to start off, not to mention the newer 10nm manufacturing process used on the 970, the GPU in the Honor Play is also a substantial upgrade over the one in the 10 lite.

Whilst the numbers don’t seem to distant, the performance gap is quite noticeable (same with the Snapdragon 820 Vs 835 🤷)
