Over the last few days every landing I have done on short and long haul flights my iPad lags so much and is so hard to land as it freezes for a few seconds and then comes back but is so slow to respond.
It might be because I am touching the screen a lot and it can’t handle it after the flight but I have no clue.
When I take off starting the flight my iPad and the app is all fine but it only happens when I land
I have uninstalled the app which helps a little but it is is still lagging and hard to play with.
Thanks
Hello, did you tried on lowering the graphics and the aircraft count?
Yeah I have graphics medium and then when I landed I put it on low but it didn’t change. I haven’t changed the aircraft count but not sure if it would make a difference if lowering the graphics didn’t do anything
The landing I did earlier I could actually land the plane but others I couldn’t even control it because it completely freezes. Hopefully it’s getting better but I’m not sure
Some questions:
-
On what device are you playing IF?
-
How much internal storage is available on your device?
-
Is there a difference between landing at an busy airport and an airport without any traffic?
And yes you should try to lower the aircraft count.
defo lower the aircraft count!!
what i do is turn it to ‘none’ and then put all the graphics on low.
that’s what i do for landings - during the flight you can turn graphics/aircraft count up as you want.
also try turning background app refresh off in settings and make sure you haven’t got any another apps open :)
I am using a fairly old IPad Air 2 but it works fine… I think I have enough storage I checked and it should hopefully run fine. I’m not quite sure if landing in busier is worse because I’ve only really landed at busy airports in the last few days
Thanks I will definitely turn down the aircraft count. What happens when you turn the aircraft count to none ?
it still shows the dots and names etc so you still know where everyone is but you won’t see the rendering of the aircraft.
i turn it back onto medium after landing and then that way i won’t accidentally crash into someone !!
Ok I will try next flight and hopefully it will work!
Thanks for the help
nw at all :)
Another quick question (sorry!) do you think that it might be because my iPad is a bit old? I’m just not sure if it’s the device or settings I can turn down in Infinite flight
it’s probably a mix of the two - I use an old android device and it’s a total champ and never crashes but it will get really laggy if I have the graphics turned up a lot
I’ve just turned aircraft count down and everything feels a bit smoother but I haven’t landed yet so hopefully works
Thank you so much hopefully works for landing!!
I´m almost certain, that landing at aiports with few traffic will make a difference. I can tell from my own experiences… Until 3 months ago I played IF on an older device and had very similar issues as you described, I always set graphics to low but during landing at busy airports the game used to freeze very often. Landing at airports without traffic wasn´t that a problem, at least with low graphics. Once I landed at KSFO during a Friday Night Flight Event (means a lot of traffic), IF was already laggy during approach, but maybe 5 seconds before touchdown my game freezed for maybe 15 seconds… I somehow managed to land either, but immediately left the flight after touchdown, I probably would have received a violation, because I couldn´t control my plane correctly (because of the lags). I believe the main reason for your lags is your old iPad, the longer you use a device, the worse gets its performance. Since I bought a new device, I never had these issues again and now I´m abled to fly into busy airports with high graphics on and no lags.
Yeah I could use my phone which is new but I only play infinite flight on iPad because it’s a bigger screen and I don’t have any storage on my phone.
Do you think I could land in busy airports or will I not be able to from now on?
Thanks for the help!
I’ve also had this problem on my iphone 11, Not sure if its because i have max graphics or not.
I don´t know, you have to try that on your own, I only can talk about my experiences… If your airplane count is very low, or even none, maybe it could work for you at busier airports with maybe around 10-15 planes at the airport, maybe not… At airports with less or none traffic it should be okay, but as I said you have to figure that out by trying to land there…
iPhone 11 should handle IF without any problems… Do you still have this problem?
Its only for a few seconds when the 3d airport is loading in and when the airport is busy dunno if its my storage
