Lag... lag... lag...

hey I’m experiencing some very annoying lag. Some could call me the ‘pro with free cam’ because of my youtube videos. I like the the videos to be the smoothest they can be in which they were until I installed iOS 11 beta. I have now downgraded and I’m no assuming its a problem with the app.

Device: iPhone 7 Plus
Software status: iOS 10.3.2
Storage: 128GB

Now obviously knowing that this is such a high end device, it should run very smooth just like it did before. Its not the type of lag that you’re probably thinking of right now… (smooth fps… bang, 3fps). It is the tiniest bit of lag ever but is really, really noticeable when up close to an aircraft.

Now travelling into the future a little bit, I know the comments are more than likely to be along the lines of this:

IFC user - “try lowering some of the graphics”

IFC user 2 - “hmmm, try reinstalling the app”

You get the point :)

Although I appreciate all the support everyone gives, these sorts of comments are useless in this case as I’ve already tried all the troubleshooting steps.

( I have tried on the lowest graphics too but the lag is still there ).

troubleshoot. Is it only on live?

I’d do a hard device reset then reinstall (don’t yell at me) a few more times.

I think this is the key part of your post… this is why it’s a developer beta and not a public beta :)

It probably isn’t a problem with the app. Your probobly overusing your device. Once in a while, its good to hard reset your device and clear the ram.

If you don’t know how to do this:

hard reset: hold the sleep and home button down at the same time
clear ram: hold the sleep button down until shutdown slider pops up, then hold the home button.

Also if it is lagging on live, a good chance it has to do with your internet connection. Lag usually associates with internet. Reset your router and stuff.

You don’t have a iPhone 7 do you? This might sound rude, and it’s not meant to.

But please read up on what actually can create symptons like this and not. Bad internet connection won’t make the app itself to lag.

Just saying this to avoid confusion and sending people in wrong direction :)

That’s a soft reset. A hard reset is a full wipe.

You’re gonna have to wipe your phone and restore from a iOS10 base file if you already haven’t. Downgrading isn’t really a supported feature, and you probably have more than enough iOS11 system files lying around even though you’ve downgraded.

Wipe it clean, and start over. Only viable solution.

Just to make it clear too I completely reset the phone

Please clarify;

How did you downgrade from the Beta?

Delete the beta profile.

Settings >> General >> Profile >> iOS Beta Software Profile >> Delete Profile

Hope this helps!

Reset the device through this: http://appldnld.apple.com/ios10.3.2/031-98958-20170515-E1FEB802-2F92-11E7-8632-F3688FB7FE33/iPhone_7Plus_10.3.2_14F89_Restore.ipsw

thats the first thing I done :)

Did it not work? 20 characters

nope, the issue still seems to be gliding around

It’s just a profile. Doesn’t really do anything but opens up the road for downloading Beta content :)

So, are you still on the iOS 11 Beta or not?

No, not anymore 1,000,000 characters

You didn’t backup your device before downloading the Beta?

Dan, try downgrading to ios 9 then upgrade to iOS 10 as i had similar issue with my old iPad, which then by doing that it did work well

Right. Completely close all of your apps, then do a soft reset (off and on again), and if that doesn’t help contact Apple Support (available on the App Store).
