I’m sure that many other expert server users have experienced an increasing amount of incidents on the expert server that… aren’t exactly aligning with real world procedure or safety. Of course, some incidents are fairly minor, for example taxing with strobes on, or forgetting to turn on landing lights during take-off and landing. Whilst expert server users do occasionally make mistakes, there have been noticeable cases of pilots completely ignoring ATC notifications, using gates as taxiways, flying over airports at very low altitudes (exiting runways airspace) whilst moments after take-off, and many similar cases. This isn’t only with pilots, but with IFATC as well. In some cases, IFATC aren’t being strict enough with enforcing real-world procedure, and often cut corners with controlling active airspaces. Admittedly, the role of being IFATC is quite difficult especially at busy airport. A couple of days ago, I was at Zurich airport in infiniteflight, and was holding short of the runway. Tower and Ground controllers left without really much notice, apart from the ‘Zurich Tower is now closed, Good Day!’ Although the IFATC cannot control what happens after they leave, the airport went haywire, with multiple aircraft attempting to depart on a single runway at once, which links back to the unprofessionalism of pilots.
I know that this post sounds a lot like me complaining, it is a matter that I and other expert server pilots find quite frustrating, as the unprofessionalism of ATC and other pilots ruins the ‘Expert’ server experience. I’m not sure what can be done on this matter, but perhaps emphasising the importance of reading the user-guide and watching Infiniteflight’s tutorial videos on YouTube for new Expert server users.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy the rest of your day/night.
