Hey! This is my first ATC tracking thread. I’ve applied for IFATC a few days ago and i’ve passed my written test. I thought this would be the time to get some practice in for my practical! If anyone joins in feel free to give me any tips I would appreciate it a lot 🤙

Status: Closed (Didn’t get a good turnout)

Things to note:

Expect long taxi times
Pattern work is allowed

Here is some feedbacks for your from Bullet 99

✅ P/B conflict
✅ T/O with direction
✅ Clearance on first pass
(✅ Nice reseq for Fat Albert)
✅ Nice seq for second pass
✅ Clearance👍🏻
✅ Frequency when a plane departs your airspace. If no conflict you can do it right after so it is done.
✅ Pattern entry on inbound
⚠️ Cleared for option, called for landing 😉
✅ Nice resequence as #2 behind G-IOCO
⚠️ No need to re-clear…just resequence since I was already cleared (but you cleared to land this time so it is not really an issue…I’ll assume you wanted to correct the option 😉)
⚠️ Exit command a bit slow at 50…aim 70-90kt

That was a pretty nice session! Good work out. there.

Try to choose a double runway airport. next time so we can practice runway change and resequences before your practical.

Feedback F-FOXY

✅ No issues on ground
✅ Great awareness of aircraft on final vs holding
✅ Good use of LUAW commands, though mine could have been given a little sooner. (Try to sim for as soon as the APPR aircraft is past my position. It will allow you more departures in the same time at busier airfields)
✅ Correct and timely sequences and clearances.
✅ Good transition altitudes
⚠️ Was cleared for an option after a G/A on a full stop approach (should have been a landing clearance)

Also this. Your tester is not going to pick an easy airport. They want to see that you have a complete understanding on Local services.

Thanks all so much for the feedback really appreciate it. Will take all of these tips and stick them into my head for the practical which is on Saturday. I’ll open a double runway airport for sure before then. Main thing I need to do is keep calm, I feel like I panic when I make a mistake instead of correcting them. Thank you! Extremely sorry for the lack of sequences and clearances guys. Had a wifi cut there for a minute, and I couldn’t get alone time between me and my family. Sorry about the ground conflict with G-IOCO and the other guy. Couldn’t get to the give way command in enough time. Feel like I chose the wrong time to open but I still hope I managed to do good. Was stressing with the amount of people spawning on ground too

Hi! I want to tell you that I am not IFATC yet (I also passed the written test like you) and therefore my feedbacks will not be as accurate as those of other IFATC users. However, I wanted to help you both today and the other day so that you could train more and better.

My feedback (they are in chronological order)
✔ Ground (Before taking off and after landing)
✔ T/O Clearance
✔ Sequencing
✔ Separation
⚠ Frequency change when departing airspace not issued
✔ Transition
✔ Pattern entry and cleared for the option
⚠ I was a bit confused during my runway change
✔ Exit runway command (you gave me when I was 70 kts, good 👍)

I’m very sorry for the problem during the taxi to parking, it was my fault. I was a little distracted. I apologize again for the inconvenience. Btw, you issued the give way command at the right time.

It was a really good session and I can see you worked hard. During the test, stay calm, as if it were a normal ATC session. Unfortunately, I did not pass the practical test and in August I will be able to do it again. During the test, I made numerous mistakes, and since that day I have tried to understand what I was wrong (moreover, due to my inexperience, I did not open a tracking thread and I trained little on practice but a lot on theory). In you, on the other hand, I see a great commitment from the first moment and you have handled all the situations that happened during the session very well. In my opinion, you will be able to pass the test! You trained a lot and very well. The only thing you need to do is not panic during the test. Hope to see you soon controlling an airport in the Expert Server. Good luck!

Thank you so much. Never realised you weren’t ATC and it’s fine about the conflict. I believe the other guy who was exiting the runway was ATC so i’m sure he will have feedback for it. I can’t remember who it was tho. Thanks for coming and i’m sorry to hear that you failed the test. Whenever you open a tracking thread before your next one i’ll be sure to join!
