KSNA C310 Plane crash 6/30/17

It was. Right engine failed about 11 seconds into the take off. He had no where else to go

Really? I thought he was circling back around to land. At least that’s how it appears from the video of the crash.

Saw this on the news, what a terrible accident. I hope those that were injured will make it through.

I second that, although I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one @Rodney_Buckland !

They had a whole [SnapChat] (https://www.snapchat.com/) story published dedicated to this specific incident itself.

I mean, I most definitely could be wrong but from my understanding, they took off from John Wayne and then their right engine failed. Because of the engine failure the pilot entered the right downwind for runway 20R, as he was turning base he lost altitude, resulting In the plane accidentally going down on the freeway. It certainly appears from the audio that the pilot was attempting to get back to SNA rather than purposefully putting the plane down on the 405. It will definitely be interesting to see the NTSB’s report on this. Regardless, I hope that the couple is able to recover from their injuries!

When I saw “landing on the highway” and KSNA, I thought, Oh no, not again, Indiana Jones missed the runway. I hope the injured will recover quickly.
