You also can’t spot from the official viewing area at night. It’s a sunrise - sundown only location. I’m sure people do spot at night, but it’s frowned upon and they do periodically have airport police coming through.
I heard something to this effect as well but I also heard that they’ve taken the sign down and they don’t care too much (I didn’t go confirm though obviously)
Yeah this guy keeps cooking
How -_-. I can’t shoot anything below 1/30 or else my photos turn out garbage. Absolutely stunning.
Liking that 717 to Kansas with that light green background. That camera is worth every penny.
That astrology shot is amazing.
Yeah now I need you to cook a 50 second RAV4 run (obscure reference)\
IBIS + practice + luck lol
Indeed it is, especially right now when they’re super super cheap.
Well done those are fantastic shots. I wouldn’t change nothing about them. Well captured. What equipment were you using? Just don’t say Sony.
Hey man I uh. I got something to tell you…
Oops just saw that it was a Sony. New age photographer. Been a Canon and Nikon guy for years, shoot professional for 20 years now. Sony cameras are my play cameras for the serious work the Nikon or Canon gets pulled out. Great cameras, just not a fan of the ergonomic design of the Sony and not a fan of the sony image processor, I find it slow compared to Nikon or Canon. I only use Nikon at airshows as I am very comfortable with Nikon.
I think I have more of an issue with the Sony UI, but I don’t shoot professionally so I’m not using the camera enough to really take issue with that (nor am I constantly changing settings or whatever which would require me to go into the menus). When I got my a7iii it was just the best option at the time. The R6, R, and RP were out but I didn’t want to put up with that cheap 100-400 and I couldn’t afford the 100-500L (200-800 also didn’t exist back then). Z5 burst rate was a dealbreaker. 180-600Z wasn’t out and I couldn’t afford the 100-400Z to go along with a Z6 or a Z7 (nor did I want to pair them with the Tamron 70-300). D850 (which I had a lens for) was way too much money at the time (I think $500+ gap). Could’ve adapted something onto a Canon or a Nikon but I did not own a 100-400L II and I felt that if I was going to move to mirrorless I might as well just jump and not hold onto my old Tamron 100-400. To each their own, I think the Sony is serving just fine.
It’s a great camera, and sounds like it fits your needs well. Good choice on lenses.
How much has the D850 come down in price since you were looking at it for a possible purchase?
A lot, they’re now like $1300 for an alright one.
I don’t think they’re bad but yeah, gear matters at night.
Not at all great shots. You have found you kits limit in those lighting conditions. I have done full on shoots with a $500 camera and kit lenses. So it’s not the camera. I prefer those bodies on some jobs. Greats shots BTW
It will happen, trust the process
