KLM 787-9 Flight 609 done by me... I guess

For Sunday Funday, I decided to do one of my favorite flights IRL and in Infinite Flight, KLM Flight 609. This flight from Amsterdam to Salt Lake took about 9:23 hours and it was done on expert. Hope you all enjoy this fun trip report or whatever you want to call it on this beautiful and best-looking 787-9! #KLM787NUMBER1

Spotted my ride at gate D43 here at EHAM.

Uuuhh. This is normal right?? I guess this is how it’s done in Amsterdam…

Departure right on time as I embark on my 9+ hour journey to the land of Freedom, Canada America.

Not much ice for a country named Iceland

Man. Imagine living down there lol. (sorry not sorry United403)

Random picture I took outside my house… The plane has autopilot for a reason.

So. You might be asking yourself: Why is this picture? Well, I’m glad you didn’t ask. The winds literally changed while I was on final and I didn’t feel like landing in a tailwind, especially since the air density during this time of year doesn’t exist. So I did a circle-to-land and that was a first for me.

Welp, I made it. If I had to score this flight, it would be 90 out of 10. Why you probably didn’t ask? It’s because of the circle-to-land thing… why!?

Here is something else you didn’t ask for, my route.

And one last thing. Can’t do a Screenshots and Videos topic without the video.

In other words, people who make these types of topics without videos are doing it wrong. It isn’t just screenshots people! It’s screenshots and videos!! But also, don’t take this comment seriously lol.

One of the best “I did this route here are some screenshots” topics here in a long while…

What’s the application where We can see your route ?

Well, there isn’t an application. It’s just a picture from InfiniteInfo of the flight path I had

This totally 100% isn’t my favorite photo because this totally isn’t my home airport , and totally isn’t my amazing place of work!!

@PhorzaSky Just watched the accompanying video: One thing, you’re not supposed to use thrust reversers until you’re nose gear is down.

Actually, I beg to differ.

I must depend on the aircraft. I watched a couple other 737 landings to be sure, and in all of them, thrust reversers were deployed after nose gear touchdown.

I think its for size

The 737 has a tendency to bring the nose down very quickly after landing because of its design. It’s doesn’t really matter when you engage reverse thrusters. Just use them when you can. If Infinite Flight was more realistic, you could technically use them anytime. Even when airborne.

Got it. Thanks for clearing that up.

like for instance, a large aircraft might want to do it early because of weight

Wait no— there are sensors on the gear that must be activated to deploy thrust reversers. I remember a Mentour Pilot video explaining how it would be physically impossible even if the sensor failed.

Then you might want to watch this

Not saying that you should do this. I’m just saying that you can 🙃

Oh. I must’ve been misremembering then. That’s actually Ryanair SOP for harder landings.
