For Sunday Funday, I decided to do one of my favorite flights IRL and in Infinite Flight, KLM Flight 609. This flight from Amsterdam to Salt Lake took about 9:23 hours and it was done on expert. Hope you all enjoy this fun trip report or whatever you want to call it on this beautiful and best-looking 787-9! #KLM787NUMBER1
So. You might be asking yourself: Why is this picture? Well, I’m glad you didn’t ask. The winds literally changed while I was on final and I didn’t feel like landing in a tailwind, especially since the air density during this time of year doesn’t exist. So I did a circle-to-land and that was a first for me.
And one last thing. Can’t do a Screenshots and Videos topic without the video.
In other words, people who make these types of topics without videos are doing it wrong. It isn’t just screenshots people! It’s screenshots and videos!! But also, don’t take this comment seriously lol.
I must depend on the aircraft. I watched a couple other 737 landings to be sure, and in all of them, thrust reversers were deployed after nose gear touchdown.
The 737 has a tendency to bring the nose down very quickly after landing because of its design. It’s doesn’t really matter when you engage reverse thrusters. Just use them when you can. If Infinite Flight was more realistic, you could technically use them anytime. Even when airborne.
Wait no— there are sensors on the gear that must be activated to deploy thrust reversers. I remember a Mentour Pilot video explaining how it would be physically impossible even if the sensor failed.
