Ukraine International is an airline I have wanted to fly for a very long time, but for obvious unfortunate reasons, I chose not to. That changed today since I wanted an early christmas gift, and… well… Ukraine’s longest pre russian invasion domestic route seemed very very appealing!
Prior to the war, Ukraine operated a very extensive route network that included 80 destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America from their hub at Boryspil Airport in Kyiv, and four focus cities across the country! Today we are flying from it’s 2nd biggest to it’s 7th biggest cities!

Just got off our bus to be greeted by the lovely 2013 built 737-900er that will take us across Ukraine after arriving from one of Europes busiest holiday destinations - Antalya Turkey! Boarding went swimmingly, and soon I was relaxing with a pre departure orange juice and a nice view of the busy mid afternoon ramp at UKHH
And we are off!
Banking west over Kharkiv’s city center in this loading screen worthy picture!
Reaching our initial cruising altitude of FL340 over Romny Ukraine as the brief lunch service starts!
Passing over the Kyiv reservoir as we head down to FL280 due to some pretty respectable turbulence.
Turning base over the western Ukraine farmlands.
Short final
Butter like usual
Safely arrived just in time to grab some lunch before our Lufthansa A319 takes us to Frankfurt
