Greetings IFC! Today I have to fly from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, in the far east of Russia. Unfortunately, tickets for the direct flight are sold out, and so are connections via Vladivostok and Khabarovsk due to the summer surge, hence I have no choice but to take an interesting detour. I will first fly to Moscow, then fly back in the opposite direction towards Sakhalin. Enjoy my 20 hour long journey!

Good afternoon from Yelizovo! We are departing from the new terminal which was inaugurated almost more than a year ago. No more walking to the aircraft on the ramp, just nice volcano views and jetbridge boarding
Pushback with a view of the Koryaksky Volcano in the background!
Heavy takeoff! We will then make a 180 degree turn and head west towards Moscow, 8 and a half hours to go!
Cruising over Northern Russia near Sabetta!
Descending over Sergiev Posad, Moscow Oblast, we will be landing shortly
Firm hard landing on runway 24L at Sheremetyevo, at this point I could’ve completed 4 flights between Kamchatka and Sakhalin, but alas, I have to transfer here
Disembarking our 777 at the cargo apron next to @Alexander_Orlov who flew in from VVO a few weeks ago!
On the bus to Terminal B we catch a glimpse of my ride to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk which will depart in an hour, so I have a tight connection to make. It is a smaller A330, but quieter and more comfortable than the louder 777-300ER
Like and comment if you want to see the second part of my trip to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk!
