Kam in Tokyo @ RJTT

A bucket list spotting destination for me has been Tokyo Haneda in Japan for awhile. Since the pandemic, I have not had an opportunity to travel to Asia. But I have had the recent opportunity to revisit!

Tokyo Haneda is a haven for it’s unique spotting angles from the various photographer-friendly observation decks. I flew in from LAX in the afternoon and spent the day in Minato City, Tokyo before returning at nightfall for some plane spotting. I then took a midnight flight down to Singapore where I will be for the coming days.

C-3PO on it’s first flight of the day at 6PM. The skyline of Makuhari in the background.

Very cool photos! And I’m quite fond of that airport.

I also really like the photo with Tokyo Sky Tree in the background (at 2000ft tall, pattern altitude might presumably be 3/4 of it’s height).

It also occurred to me how that aircraft, while taxing under power, and the taxiing きめつのやいば one, both have their apu intake doors fully open, even though obviously under engine power?

And I can’t help the irony:

“Destroy Ogre Sword(s),” no doubt referring to this as a troll destroying weapon with its turbine blades.

All of these aircraft (aside from C-3PO) were taken directly after pushback actually! Engine starts would still be happening for each of the aircraft so APU would still be on.
