As I pulled onto the main expressway taxiway, I saw everyone doing 25-30 knots as I got up to 15, so I followed and sped up to 30 and had a small race with two other planes on the other main taxiway
I won the “race” by the way as I got ahead of them.
Funny, I literally did the same thing with another most likely wide body airliner and I was pretty sure I was a wide body airliner as well a couple months ago, I forgot when and where tho ![]()
Not sure why everyone was going 30 knots down the taxiways but hey, if it saves me 3 seconds then I’ll do it.
I mean depending on where you spawn and what runway, it could take more than a minute to taxi down the runway so when on a long taxiway, I do tend to taxi as fast as possible below the limit ![]()
Well, no one flies on land better than you, Shinkansen_Rail_Line ![]()
(cough)Flying is Overrated(cough)
Got that right! I’m the best LAND flying pilot in the world.
Oh my days you’re finally on the runway
BRAVO BRAVO!! you chose the right side
at least race on the taxiway instead of driving on the MOUNTAINS!!![]()
I am back where my plane was meant to be. (for now at least)
"For now"![]()

Please don’t do that
Sadly my Flying is Overrated series has come to an end, so who knows if I’ll be climbing up mountains anytime soon…
On a serious note, I’m one of those guys
when someone’s racing me be it entering approach cone or taxiing towards runway, it’s on. Moreover when there’s ATC, we play chicken very carefully, who’ll mess up first and get told off by ATC is it lol.
But, I got the remedy for this “play chicken virus”!
it was joining a VA!
Since then, I don’t feel challenged but to just let it sliiide… because am now a proud company pilot with my meticulously pre-calculated fuel, company C.I. and ETA schedule! I know when my passengers should arrive on the dot each time so rushing it won’t change anything… my perfect plan will be executed at a steady 10 knots until take-off clearance, with or without distractions!
As a F1 driver (I play F1 games) I always GO FOR THE GAP! If you see a gap, then take the gap and gain an advantage while the other is distracted or slow to respond
