The way they were landing aircraft and directing pattern work because there was no approach controller at RCTP was something incredible. Hats off to everyone who patiently waited in line to take off allowing this tower controller to first clean up the skies.
Thank you so much for your kind words :"). They truly mean a lot to me. This was one of the most demanding sessions I’ve ever worked, especially without radar. There were moments when the workload was incredibly high, with constant arrivals, departures, and pattern traffic, so staying ahead of everything required my full attention.
Comments like yours remind me why I enjoy controlling so much <3, :). I know I still have a lot to learn, and I’m always looking for ways to improve, but receiving this kind of feedback motivates me to keep studying, practicing, and giving my best every time I open a frequency.
One thing this session reminded me is that it’s always worth trying, even when something seems impossible. I was told that opening such a busy airport without radar would probably be too much to handle, but I wanted to challenge myself. It wasn’t easy, but I stayed focused, trusted my training, and learned a lot from the experience. Sometimes the greatest progress comes from taking on challenges that seem beyond your limits.
Thank you again for taking the time to send this message. It means more than you probably realize. I hope we’ll meet again on frequency. Safe flights, and see you in the skies! ![]()
