Joining Virtual Airlines

I recently got promoted to Grade 3 and in expert server I have seen there are some users who are associated with some airlines, how do I do that ?

What are its pros and cons?

Hey!

You can see the list of VAs on the site linked below:

Clicking on the VA name will take you to their website. All of them will also have a thread here on the forum, which will have all the relevant links. I wouldn’t really say there are any cons to joining a VA.

Some treat it as a status symbol, some just join a VA for the heck of having it on their name. Others join to do whatever the VA they are in does. Like group flights and long haul flights and also to level up in the VA itself.

Go to Live category and VA subcategory here on the IFC and look for the Virtual Airline according to your liking! Grade 3 basically secures your eligibility to join most VAs, so you won’t find an issue whilst applying for one!

The pros here are that you will be able to host group flights, participate in events and fly exclusively as an airline pilot and also profit from their codeshares which expand a VA’s global reach, extending your array of destinations.

The cons is that you can’t fly any route that you would like, only those that are within the VA’s route database. Of course, you could fly on your own but you can’t necessary log any random route for the VA.

Personally, as a staff member at a VA, I do think VAs have an advantage when it comes to community-wise, hosting entertaining events for all pilot members to enjoy and get to know each other. You can join VAs which you may love, or those based in your home country and other criteria too.

Hopefully I helped with your question
