No, the new gates still can’t support the A380. BA is pretty much fine with this though since they send so many 777s a day to JFK so it isn’t a problem.
To answer your other questions, the new T1 will sit where T1 and T2 are today, so both those terminals will go. T4 will remain, as will T5 and T8. T7 will be demolished in the coming years and replaced with the brand new T6 which will connect to T5. So it isn’t 1 big terminal, in the end it’ll be the new T1, T4, T5, T6, and T8 with 5 and 6 connected.
Talking about terminal, does some of you know what terminal is this? This terminal last seen on satellite imagery in 2013, before demolished and gone forever. I just curious about this terminal 🤔
Was more so demolished after the expansion of 4, the T1 expansion wasn’t a thing when the Worldport was demolished. Delta expanded T4 to have a more modern terminal to replace T3.
Yea, there was a lot of complaints when it was demolished since it was really a historic terminal and all its history with PanAm. Lots of people upset it’s gone. I get why, it was aging, but the look was really iconic.
Back in the 70s/80s/90s or there was a parking lot on the roof, you use to be able to park up there and plane spot. How times change.
Hello! I’m just curious about the west end of the airport, and if that will be worked on and made more realistic. For example, will the sheltair terminal be fixed? I think the cargo areas over there, along with the delta maintenance (formerly pan am maintenance) are also I need of a facelift. I’m also curious about the JetBlue hangar towards the northern end of the airport. Will that least be colored blue?
The JetBlue hangar rework has been completed and will hopefully come in 23.3. Some fixes to the airport will also be sent. I recently flew out of JFK and got a chance to see the new terminal 8 gates and I am excited to add them once imagery becomes available.
