Jimmy Buffett Album Covers @ Oshkosh Seaplane Base

Hello everybody!

For the past week and a half, the town of Oshkosh, Wisconsin has been my home. 2026 Airventure Oshkosh just concluded, and it’s probably been my favorite Airventure to date. I got tons of photos, but this batch is from the EAA seaplane base on Lake Winnebago — the most peaceful and serene place there. Perfect place to listen to some Jimmy Buffett and relax.

An Aeronca Champ taxiing in from landing with another aircraft landing on the lake in the background

Normally there’s not much activity at the seaplane base, but this particular day they had SEVEN departures at the same time. Can’t you feel em schoolin’ around, you got planes to the left, planes to the right, and you’re the only bait in town.

Bright Red Sea Ray spotted through a gap in the trees after takeoff. Does he know where he’ll go when the volcano goes?

The same Aeronca Champ taxiing after landing for the second time… a Cessna 182 can be spotted in the background if you look closely.

The whole time I was there, they were bumpin’ Jimmy Buffett and The Beach Boys. Some of my favorite artists, but also very fitting for the atmosphere of the seaplane base. If you haven’t listened to either of em, get on that now.

Camera: My phone cause I forgot my good camera at home. Some people claim there’s a woman to blame for it, but it’s my own dang fault.

Thank you, and have a great day!
If you got the lyric references than you know ball.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be eating my cheeseburger in paradise and wishing I was wastin’ away at the seaplane base.

A good spot to see sea planes is grosse ile airport in Michigan. keep in mind that they don’t always have planes taking off there go on like a big event day like the telegraph cruise or something like that. They sometimes let you go onto the tarmac too which is really cool
