Jetphotos Prescreening Thread

I have a ton of niche killer photos but they all get rejected because I took them on my phone (an actual good quality phone). Guess the pics will live on my computer forever. :sob:

Even if your phone is considered “good quality” there are still a lot of hurdles into jetphotos, the main one being the softness, then the rather un fixable contrast and in built over processing, when you have multiple rejection reasons where neither can be fixed slightly, it clumps into bad quality, however if you consider your phone to be good quality the rejections usually come down to skill and editing related rather than the phone itself, as it’s not unheard of for phones to be accepted, which model phone do u have?

Also could I get a pre screen on this?

Samsung Galaxy S21. I turn off all the processing so I get the raw image which I then edit in Gimp if I deem necessary. I’ll attach an unedited example below and you guys can let me know what’s the main issue and how I can fix it (if it’s fixable)

i wouldn’t, this photo is cloudy and JP screeners probably wouldn’t accept

Unfortunately, this photo will not pass the screeners mainly because the ground power unit is obstructing the front portion of the plane.

IMO, that still looks a little bit too high in frame. Compare the empty space between the bottom section of the tug & the tail of the plane with the edge of the photo.

Yes, that is supposed to happen, because it’s not completely side on, if you look at the dead center it’s rather centered, I am looking for advice on sharpness contrast etc

It is a little bit high in frame but not for that reason, I’ve always used the fuselage to center the aircraft, if you take the tail into account, some pictures would look very low in frame:

Uhhh it’s like 0.3 degrees clockwise, you might get rejected for horizon, otherwise it’s ok for me and might even get screeners choice! Very strong photo.

Some photos are perfect straight out of the camera, very good chances, just make sure to turn the contrast slider to the maximum.

A bit high in frame, maybe sharpen a bit, but then it’s good!

Just a bit more sharpening and it will be ready for the queue
