JetBlue A320 NEW INTERIOR Review | West Palm Beach (KPBI) to Newark (KEWR)

West Palm Beach to Newark

JetBlue 1944 - A320 Phase 2

This flight was taken before the pandemic, on 2020-01-16T23:31:00Z

Welcome to this new trip report! Today, I will be flying with an airline I fly with very often, but this will be my first time on their new interior aircraft. Today I’ll be taking a flight from West Palm Beach, Florida to Newark, New Jersey. When I got the check in counter, I realize that my flight was already delayed one hour. Me being me, we decided to use priority pass to access the lounge in Concourse B. JetBlue departs out of Concourse C, and that meant we had to clear security to get to the lounge, and then re-clear security at Concourse C to get to our plane. The prime class lounge at West Palm Beach Airport offers a buy-in pass, for 35 dollars. We came to the lounge just eight days after it opened, so it was clean and fresh. We got great views out of the lounge at this United Airbus aircraft departing for Newark.

The lounge was basically empty, and it was very nice. The food tasted good, as well.

About an hour before my flight, I left the lounge and headed towards security for Concourse C. This is my first flight ever with my new TSA pre-check, and it was a breeze! It’s not like the line for security was long anyway, regular security probably took around five minutes, and TSA pre-check probably took around three. Once we got to our gate, we found our aircraft waiting. Today is a 12-year-old Airbus A320, N760JB, belonging to JetBlue.

After our 5:30pm departure time was pushed back to 6:08pm, it was pushed back again, to 6:31pm

Soon enough, we were heading down the jet bridge boarding this newly retrofitted Airbus A320! When I got on board, I was shocked. The seats looked incredible! Opposed to their older aircraft, this was a major step up!

The new Airbus for JetBlue features 27 rows in an all economy configuration. Seven of those rows, are Even More Space, with 38 inches of legroom. Those are rows 1-5, and 10-11. In economy class, JetBlue offers 32 to 33 inches of legroom, which is industry-leading!

Today, I see it is 26F, a standard economy seat located on the right hand side of the plane. The first thing I noticed when I got to my seat, was the gigantic inflight entertainment screen! This is a big change from their older aircraft. Now, they offer 100s of channels, rather than just 36.

The legroom is incredible, as you can see. With 33 inches of room, even the tallest can fit here!

Something that is generally overlooked when it comes to in-flight entertainment, is the user interface. I found it to be very easy to navigate, and nothing was hard to reach from any screen. You don’t want to spend 15 minutes trying to navigate the different pages, and JetBlue makes it easy to watch a movie with the in-flight map in the bottom right hand corner! That way, you could look out the window and know where you are without having to switch to the map. I value the system and I really like it. something that is generally overlooked when it comes to in-flight entertainment, is the user interface. They also have a wing for you on the map, so if you were in row 27, which doesn’t have a window, you can use the wing for you from the IFE screen. Not saying it’s the same thing, but it’s better than nothing.

Something that is very special about JetBlue, is the food service. They offer unlimited snacks and drinks for the best price of any airline… Free! My personal favorite, is the mustache cookies! JetBlue also serves snack boxes on most of their flights over two hours. I’ve had them before and they are very good, but I didn’t splurge for that on this flight.

After eating, I decided to check out the channels list. They offer a wide variety of channels, and I wouldn’t ever get bored on even the longest flight, which is up to seven hours!

I then decided to go on their “Fly-Fi”, Where as the general public knows it, Wi-Fi! This is what really sets JetBlue apart, their leg room is incredible, Their screens are great, their snacks are great, their flight attendants are always happy and smiling, but the Wi-Fi is something else! There is free unlimited Wi-Fi for the entire duration of the flight! Unlike other airlines who will offer one hour free Wi-Fi, or you must pay for Wi-Fi, JetBlue offers it for 100% free!

Also, below the seat you’ll find a charger, along with a USB port under the screen.

The overhead panel is nice as well, it comes with a reading light, and individual air events which are very helpful. Individual events are very underrated I think, it is important to always have cool air on board, especially if the plane is made very hot.

Here are some incredible views of the Trenton/Philadelphia area as we make our decent into the Newark area!

As we have now arrived at Newark, I would like to see my closing thoughts. I am really excited to see JetBlue expand to London in the next year. I’m also excited to see what they do with their new Airbus A220, that they said they’re taking delivery of late this year. It is great to see that they’ve recently expanded out of the New York area, reaching new destinations from Newark airport, Lake Charleston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and many more! I will continue to be loyal to JetBlue for all of these reasons that I’ve mentioned. Being a South Florida resident, it is important that I do like JetBlue because to a lot of destinations, they are the only choice, and I’m happy about it! Thanks for reading! Please vote in the poll below, as this will decide which trip report for me to post next!

I hope you get the experience, truly a great airline!

What’s the difference between this and the A321 cabin that they’ve had for years now, or is it the same?

Quick question: do you know the registration? I was on N591JB from Fort Lauderdale (Updated interior) to Newark just 3 days later.

@Tyler, here you go

Oh, sorry about that. Missed it. It would have been cool if we were on the same aircraft. 🤔

I’m loving the new cabin. It’s such a clean and modern look, compared to the old ones. How do you find the comfort of it?

Very comfortable, a little warm though, recommend opening the air vents immediately, that’s what I did, and it was great. There was an ajustable headrest. Soft seat

That’s good to hear. And how does it compare to say UA or DL?

It blows them out of the water. You can’t even compare any other airline in the entire world what JetBlue has to offer on their new aircraft. And I’m not being biased at all. I’m being totally serious

I might give it a go sometime. Now if only they stopped delaying flights so much 😞

That is a common occurrence, but it is New York

I would rather fly on a two hour delayed JetBlue flight rather than a United or Delta flight any day
