Jet2.com becomes a new Airbus customer

Jet2 Fleet expansion

Earlier today, we saw the news from Toulouse that Jet2.com has placed an initial order of 36 A321neos. The order reflects Jet2.com’s ambitious fleet expansion and renewal plans for the future.

Philip Meeson, Jet2.com Executive Chairman said;

Jet2.com will be proud to operate the Airbus A321neo in the years ahead. This aircraft is, in our opinion, the most efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft in its class today – it will give our holiday customers a wonderfully comfortable and enjoyable experience as they travel with us for their well deserved Jet2holiday.”

The aircraft will be configured for 232 seats with an Airspace cabin featuring innovative lighting, new seating products and 60 percent larger overhead baggage bins for added personal storage.

@LordZakCreaser

This is for you.

Personally I feel like Jet2 could go transatlantic with the A321 NEO.

a Jet2 A321 looks cursed enough irl. Why should they get more

Absolutely! They’ve already done it with their 757s before. Around the Christmas season, they fly to Newark from Leeds and multiple other hubs in the UK.

This order makes me think that the 757s may be phased out as they’re knocking on?

Oh that’s interesting, I thought Jet2 never had transatlantic routes. Well I see why they ordered these now, the 757 is pretty old for my taste.

I think it’s really exciting opportunity for Jet 2!

They are a very well liked airline and offer some brilliant routes, it would also be very exciting if they started some transatlantic routes with the new A321neo :)

Nor do you know when Airbus will have a plane grounded 🙃

Personally, I’m excited to see Jet2 take 36 A321neos to the skies in the future considering it’s one my favourite A320neo variants with CFM Leap powered engines. It definitely does suit the fleet. It’ll be better for them to order a couple of A321LRs for transatlantic routes too.
