Japan Airlines 787-8 Tokyo-Haneda to Dalian

I think I’m starting to like this new 787-8 livery a lot! Flew today between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and one of the oldest airports in China, in the port city of Dalian.

Server: Solo
Airline: Japan Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner
Origin: Haneda Airport, Tokyo, Japan (HND)
Destination: Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, Zhoushuizi, China (DLC)
Flight Number: JL23
Route: RJTT-ZYTL
Seat: 46A (Economy)
Time En Route: 2 Hours 54 Minutes

Boarding at Terminal 3, which handles almost all of Haneda’s International flights

Taxiing out for departure to Dalian

Takeoff roll started as we accelerate down the runway

Takeoff and climbout over Tokyo Bay

Continuing to climb past Mount Fuji. It looks a lot smaller from the air!

Near the Korean coast after crossing the Sea of Japan

Final descent into Dalian

Landing at DLC. The airport has been here in some form or another since 1927, but it reached its design capacity around 2012 or so. Currently, a new airport is under construction to replace it, which will inherit the DLC/ZYTL identifiers.

Very nice pictures! I don’t see people flying into Dalian or Liaoning in general that much. I might try this route, but with the ANA A320neo from Narita IF it gets released

Unfortunately enough, a lot of airlines flying in and out of Dalian have invested heavily in the A320neo family, which we don’t have yet, Dalian doesn’t really have any long-haul flights out of it, which people like doing, and it happens to be overshadowed by other airports further west, like PEK and PKX.

Yeah. Imagine an A320neo fly-out of Dalian! That would be cool.
