Does anyone know if the tropopause level on live is streamed from weather server, fixed by location, or always at 36000ft? FYI tropopause is the level where the temperature stops decreasing with altitude, which removes the speed penalty of step climbing, so this is a factor in deciding when to step climb.
Would be interesting to know wether it is actually existing in IF and whether it actually affects any performance if it is!
It is at 36000 at solo.
Doesn’t affect fuel burn but below the tropopause step climbing reduces TAS by 2-3 kts.
