IPod Touch 7th Gen

Hey everyone! I hope your weekend is going great.

Anyway, so last week Apple launched I guess the same ipod touch but with a better processor, and I wanted to ask anyone if it is good for IF. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 atm, but I get very busy and I go back and forth to places with it, and it just keeps me away from IF most of the time. Basically I wanted to see if the IPod 7th Gen would be a good device to play IF. Thanks in advance!

It will probably run it at low to medium settings. Don’t forget it only has 1gb of ram.

The screen is okay. But take the guts of an iPhone 7.

Yh you should just get an iphone 7 instead.

It has an A10 processor, two generations newer than the A8 my IPad has, and I run ludicrous settings with antialiasing on. My IPad Mini 4 has two Gigs of RAM, same as the new iPod, it should run IF just fine, it’s actually internally almost just a scaled down IPad 2018, so you’re all good. It will probably be less smooth than you’re S9, but it will be more than fine…

Wrong, it has two, and it will do way better than low to medium, the A10 is still very capable, and with how optimized IOS is, it will probably be rather capable for a while.

Yeah I thought, It surely has 2GB

And also if the iPad 2018 can run IF then this sure can.

Exactly, if anything it should actually be better than the 2018, same processor, and RAM, but less pixels… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good point, It has less screen to work with. So it should put less strain on the CPU and it can use it for IF.

Well it’s more the Graphics that will be less taxed, but regardless, it should be the same or better…

My bad. However I still wouldn’t recommend it. It comes in around the same price of an iPhone 7 with the same specs. However has a much smaller screen and had no sim compatibility. And plus the 1000mah battery is a major downside.

I have an iPhone 7, with the same SoC and I run full graphics. It works very well, just drains the battery.

True, you have a point, though you can get a warranty, and current accessories from Apple. Though, I think there is something to be said for getting the 7 instead…

But on a smaller screen, and a lower resolution one. I’d actually expect decent battery life here…

Running infinite flight wouldn’t make a big difference.

If getting the $199 starting price configuration, it is quite a good deal (the 7 is around 400-500)

What do you mean? The screen is usually the majority of battery consumption, the processor is very efficient…

True, the 7 is still 400+ unless you want a refurbished warranty free model, and you certainly can’t find one new…

Wdym you can’t find a iPhone 7 new? I can buy a new one from apple right now.

Yes, but you’re still running infinite flight which drains a lot of the battery. The 1000mah will probably only be able to take on short flights without being kept on charge.
