I’m aware of the fix to the iPad crashing thing but I’m still experiencing issues with my iPad crashing while I’m on final or literally at any point of the game. I currently play on IPad 7th gen and I’m updated to iOS 16.7.10 I’ve done everything in the books from restarting the iPad, uninstalling / reinstalling the app, to Turning all the settings to low, but it still crashes. I’m finding it really hard to enjoy flying in the sim with this unfortunate situation.
The iPad 7th Gen is over 5 years old now - released September 2019.
have you tried restarting the device before every flight to clear the memory and make sure that there is a much possible for Infinite Flight. It sounds like at least apart from that you are doing everything you can.
Your device only has 3GB of RAM, which is the minimum required by IF, as outlined here. You stated app crashes are most common on final approach to your destination airport - that’s because your device has to load a whole lot of objects all at once, and this throws off iOS’ memory management. iOS kills the app if it takes up too much RAM, or if it starts allocating RAM too quickly - which is inevitable when needing to render an airport in an instant.
As you correctly pointed out, your settings should be at the lowest possible - please do make sure that everything is indeed set to Low, including Airplane Count, and ensure Anti-Aliasing is turned off too. Restarting your device before every flight, as pointed out above, is also good advice.
If none of these work the end, though, you may have to look into buying a new device in order to enjoy Infinite Flight. The issue isn’t the age of the device, but rather the low amount of RAM it’s equipped with - so if you do decide to go down that path, make sure your new device has more than 3GB of RAM.
