@aviation.ny are you sure it’s not the Air 5 or Mini 5? The iPad 5th generation is 8 years old at this point.

I’ve had this happen a few times. So frustrating after a long flight. Not sure if this had anything to do with it, but I found that IF would crash when I was constantly touching the throttle with my left thumb, instead of adjusting it and pulling my thumb off. When I stopped doing that a few months back, I haven’t had it crash on final since.

If that’s the case for you, it could actually be the case for me, because whenever it happens, it’s always when I’m on short final and I’m flying manually. And when I fly manually, I always have my left thumb on the throttle.

I got a new test version for crash as i enrolled in for it before and my crash has been significantly reduced but may i know how much years old is your ipad rn

Same. There’s so much going on when it happens that I honestly don’t know why it happens for me. It could be one of the reasons y’all listed, it could be all of them combined, who knows 🤷🏼♂️

If I’m being honest, I think it’s a mix of the Apple issue on Infinite Flight’s end, also just our iPad’s being on the slightly older side, and potentially graphics settings.
I always hand fly my final and sometimes it happens a few seconds after I calibrate the iPad. I also try to close my other apps before final (safari, charts, discord, spotify).
IF can’t handle my scatterbrain 😂
i have a similar case there, and the crashes have been far reduced so there’s hope all these issues popping up with IF on iOS devices will be fixed in 23.1
Ok so today I actually have a different story lmao. So I was on final approach into JFK after a nice 4 and a half hour from SEA. Approach was looking good, aside from the insane gusting crosswinds in NYC today. The app didn’t crash (thank god 💀) but instead, my aircraft decided to sink through the runway during touch down. I went around and attempted again, same thing happened, then I went around again and tried the other parallel runway, same thing happened.
I’m like laughing, crying, and dying inside whenever this happens lmfao

It pretty much resets your scenery and prevents that from happening

My game use to crash a lot on short final but it doesn’t anymore because I found a solution from someone that if you restart your device before every flight the game won’t crash I have been doing this for a year now and my game has never crashed again I hope this helps
