Good to know thanks
Yes most likely, because the flight goes onto the servers of infinite flight, and the whole point is to save your battery and time; so using your connection wouldn’t make too much sense.
I am so happy about this thanks
Great work once again. Reaching new heights again and again. Can’t Wait to try out
YESSS LETS GOOO BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FEATURE YEAAHHHH!!! Im so hyped lol.
I think this idea is great…
For me one of the best features is the support across multiple devices. You know, sitting in the car, waiting for someone. Just do a quick take off and climb to cruise and then send it to AP. And you don’t need to worry about it anymore. Just finish it whenever you want on iPad. Or just opposite. Start on iPad at home and when you’ve got time like in the bus or what ever, just end it with iPhone.
Love it!!!
Please don’t let us wait too long anymore. That tease is cruel! I want it so bad
It would be fantastic if we could see this next week!
yeah depends on how hurry you are you might have to climb like a rocket (unrealistic) because you gotta go soon so it can meet the requierement to activate the autopilot+ (cruising)
May get a lot easier as soon as step climb gets implemented. Or so long you’re climbing you still can use IF remote. Take off, activate IF remote and use step climb. If you like, remain in IF Remote, if you wanna save battery and don’t wanna worry about your flight anymore, go to AP+
Is it possible that i can takeoff on my phone a longhaul flight and land it later on my tablet?
Yes, it is!
This is something that was really missing in IF! Thanks.
Yes, that’s what the blog says
I can not wait to do long delivery flights with this new feature!
We’ve all seen Laura’s fleet parked in the background at certain airports.
Can we park the planes in the background without flying?
No - the first version of AutoPilot+ will require the following criteria to be followed to be able to put the flight in the background:
- Aircraft Altitude must be at least 28,000 feet MSL for jets, and 7,000 feet MSL for props
- Aircraft must be in level flight (not climbing or descending)
- A flight plan must be filed
- Autopilot and LNAV must be engaged
- Aircraft must be on the flight plan track
- ETE to destination must be greater than 30 minutes
Will this feature create multiple replays of 1 flight like flight resume or does this feature get rid of having to have multiple replays of 1 flight? Also would this feature also allow me to resume on another device with the same account? Also does this mean i don’t have fry my devices everytime i do flights? Will this reduce the amount of server disconnections? Will my devices have to stay online for these flights to continue? Will these flights be visible to the entire multiplayer servers showing the green line while i am inactive? Or in other words will it still show up on infiniteview?
If it does almost all of these things I am very much looking foward to this feature.

Yes - “While others in Infinite Flight can see your flight cruising in the background, you can step away. Best of all, since your flight is stored on our servers, you can pick it back up from any of your devices — no more tying up your tablet overnight or draining your phone battery.”

When the flight is in the background I don’t think it would rely on your connection. There is no mention of an “need to be always online” requirement - given the flight is stored in the servers when in background mode. You can leave the app and do other things on your device while the flight runs in the background.
If the servers went down though, it would probably affect it.

We’ve seen Laura on the servers but when you click on her aircraft, it shows its in background mode - saying e.g. “Background 30mn” (instead of “Away”).

The evidence suggests yes, we’ve seen Laura do multiple flights in a row using this feature and its showed up as one continuous track on InfiniteView. She even said herself that during the World Tour she would have it run in the background and then leave it paused when it reached 30 minutes ETE until the arrival airport was less busy.
If that is the case then this feature will be unfortunately useless for some of us. I don’t think people are trying to have multiple replays when utilizing this feature.
Unless the 2 replays is when you reach the end point to where the flight switches to flight resume, then that would make sense with the second replay being related to flight resume but if it creates multiple replays like where as soon as i get to cruising and decide to utilize autopilot+ and then return to the sim having 2 replays in the end or return to the flight just before autopilot+ caps out at the point of where the flight ends to flight resume, then this feature unfortunately will not be considered useful to some of us. When people go to share their full flight no body wants to have to load up multiple replays just to review a single flight.
