Introducing AutoPilot+

This is a very good addition. IF is really perfect in terms of UI and system. Now if only they would update the graphics, it would be perfect. Airport textures, etc… Since most of them are already implemented in RFS, I think IF can implement them as well. It’s really good that they are actually working on such things. I know that game development is very difficult. Thank you for always keeping IF competitive!

I don’t understand the 48 hours limit tho. What does this mean exactly?

Basically once your aircraft reaches 30 minutes from your destination, it will pause. You then have 48 hours to resume the flight and land before its presumably removed from the servers.

But can I use auto pilot + several times in one flight ?

But flight resume has no expiration right ?

I’m guessing you can go back into flying the aircraft, then back into AutoPilot+ provided you meet the criteria.

I could be wrong but I believe flight resume at the moment has the same limit. I remember reading that somewhere…

And, provided I meet the certain criteria, with autopilot + I can leave IF and go on other apps with no problem right ?

Yes. Thats the point of the feature. You can leave the app and the flight will continue in the background.

When will the update come?

Oky great. 👌

@jasonrosewell it’s been a while and I haven’t been active on infinite flight in a couple years, but later today I’m going to restart my sub because of this.

I grew up playing IF, and between college and military duty, i definitely wouldn’t have had the time to fly if it weren’t for this.the innovation and ideas you guys continue to roll out are much appreciated.

This actually seems like a game changer for long haul flights, can’t wait to see it in action

Also, can other pilots/ATC see if a flight is on autopilot+?

Yes. ATC will see an aircraft as away (and therefore shouldn’t bother them).

From a pilot side we got a teaser of what it would look like a while ago - instead of it saying “Away _minutes/hours” on the aircraft tag, it will say “Background _minutes/hours”.

I am so excited for this

Will the flight still run in background if your data connection is off
