Interesting way to get into aviation!

Once again I don’t know if category and title fit well this topic:

Do you know the YouTuber Aaron Rheins? Well, I was scrolling on YouTube and came across some of his crash videos where he recreates accidents and stuff. From watching those crash videos, my 10-year-old mind thought, “Huh, I like those planes and this game.” I was talking about MSFS 2020, and I really enjoyed those videos.

Then, the YouTube algorithm started showing me more and more aviation videos. At some point, I remember downloading Infinite Flight on my grandma’s tablet and trying to fly a bit in the free version. I got bored, and my interest randomly shifted to buses for some reason.

After about 8–9 months of being into buses, I got bored again and went back to aviation. I kept learning new things, going to the airport for spotting, and saying things like calling an Airbus A320neo a Q400 and that kind of stuff.

Later on, I came across LuxPlanes and Pilot Vlogs, who explained how to recognize different types of airplanes. Long story short, after about two years, I downloaded Infinite Flight again.

On just the second day of having my Pro subscription, I reached Grade 2. (I know, I have no life—I even skipped school because I was sick that day and ended up playing Infinite Flight for 14 hours.)

On Day 1 of having Pro, I did a long-haul flight and crashed on approach, but I still got a lot of hours and XP. When I finally got into the expert servers, I noticed so many people flying in virtual airlines.

Before downloading Infinite Flight again, I had been playing RFS for six months, and they had VAs too—but they were horribly designed. So I searched how to join a VA (I was thinking it would be like RFS) and IFC showed up, i scrolled a bit and got bored, some weeks later I decided to join a VA, i joined @virtualsas and some days ago @RyanairVirtualGroup I haven’t be a able to fly that much for both of them.

Now, I’m making my VA, after realising there is no Aegean VA when i was trying to find a VA to join a month ago, I’m nearly done developing Aegean Virtual Airlines, but my TL is too low (I have no friends who play IF so currently im the only staff member and developer of the Airline)!

But every time i think about it, i find it really weird that crash videos and recreations got me into aviation…

How did you get into aviation, and what do you think about all that?
Thank you very much from everyone in the IFC, @virtualsas and @RyanairVirtualGroup for the help, and i will be really glad to announce the release of Aegean Virtual Airlines/Group when i can release it! See y’all!

Interesting story!

By the way, (I’m not sure but) isn’t there an Aegean virtual airline already?

I don’t know if it’s still active, but this popped up right away when I searched “Aegean”

From what I can see, there is no currently active Aegean Virtual.
