Infinite Flight Inside The Development Hangar

We’ve published a new Aircraft Development Update covering progress across the A321neo, Boeing 787, and A350-1000. The A321neo is now fully modeled with texturing underway, while the 787 has reached a major milestone with all three variants modeled and UV-mapped, now moving into final texturing. We also touch on the A350-1000 as a quick addition using our existing model. With the new rendering system now behind us and teams settling into the updated content pipeline, aircraft development is beginning to move faster again.

These are fantastic news! By how much time was aircraft development cut down?

The update we got was supposed to be released in 2025 as 25.2, so I think it might be some time that they lost.

Awesome, that makes me a little less salty about the 767 losing

I don’t think that was entirely the question… prior to this news, aircraft development was slow, I’m talking several months because it was mainly in-house.

With the new external team and working being divided amongst them, work is being done on different aircraft across multiple variants at the same time. This directly reduces development time while still being efficient and bringing the quality we love to see.

The reason 26.1 was delayed so much was “showstopper” bugs and an incredibly strong focus on getting the new rendering system out door.

This gives me hope for a proper 747 rework, featuring the -400, -400F, -8 and -8F. The 767 could also benefit from having both the -300ER and -300F variants.

I hope for that as well.
