I had a brief headwind of 170 kts when flying to Gran Canaria 😨

Head to the area between Australia and Antarctica and you can often find 180+ kt winds at 32-34k ft

Did some digging and found these at 42000 above Japan

I always appreciate a hundred kt tail wind in IF. From irl records, looks like it won’t go a whole lot faster very often. irl: “787 Dreamliner was clocked at 801mph over Pennsylvania as it rode the fastest jet stream on record, blowing east at 231mph.”

231mph is 200kts.

Lol I was the same. I flew into Amsterdam about an hour ago and the winds were crazy…
