Infinite View - A Web Flight Tracker for Infinite Flight

Introducing Infinite View

A new flight tracker for Infinite Flight!

Today is the day for… a brand-new flight tracker! Infinite View started as a small project of mine back in 2018, when I first began experimenting with the Live API. Every summer, I would find myself returning to the project, fixing countless bugs and gradually adding features. This year, with some persuasion and renewed enthusiasm, I decided to rewrite the program from the ground up and release it to all of you.

There are many trackers out there already, on the web, Android, and iOS – I’ve used them all throughout my time on Infinite Flight. Infinite View brings the best of the trackers to one place, along with some new and exciting features that I’ve been working on. Let’s take a look!

Infinite View can be accessed here.

Mobile users, yes that includes you Android fans, add the webpage to your home screen to take advantage of the web app support!

✓ Live flight tracking

Track flights across all three servers in real time with in-depth information and colour-coded flight paths. View flight schedules and progress, with the most important information available at just a quick glance.

✓ Delays and traffic information

View how busy an airport is with our traffic indicators, powered by a (top secret!) algorithm. Quickly see the active ATC frequencies, and the arrival and departure boards complete with delay information.

✓ Trending flights and airports

The trending button displays the top tracked flights and the airports with the most traffic, allowing users to quickly navigate to the action!

✓ User information

The grade, XP, total landings, total flight time, total flights and violations are displayed for every user. These are updated at the start of each flight.

✓ Altitude and speed graph

The altitude and speed graphs allow you to view a flight’s history. For long flights, the graphs will bias the departure and landing stages of the flight, making it easier to track altitude and speed changes.

Introducing our Pro subscription for those who want to unlock Infinite View’s full potential.

Infinite View Pro is a monthly subscription, currently priced at £1.99 GBP. Please note that the price in your local currency may fluctuate. All payments are handled through Stripe.

✓ Globe view [PRO]

An Infinite Flight tracker first. View flights from above, below or the side - it is up to you! Move around in 3D space and get a real sense of the live traffic with this unique perspective.

Globe view allows you to view an airport from an air traffic controller’s perspective, or to fly around like ‘free cam’ mode on Infinite Flight. Handy for those inbound to a busy airport and want to see the amount of traffic.

Airborne planes will alternate between showing callsign and speed | altitude.

It’s hard to fully capture the Globe view experience with just photos. Below is a trailer that was made during the development process that showcases this feature!

✓ Advanced search [PRO]

Finding an airport or flight has never been easier. Our powerful search supports callsigns, usernames and airport ICAOs. Search also supports routes, listing all aircraft flying the route of interest. Simply type ICAO to ICAO, and search will do the rest!

Airports with active ATC will be highlighted, and display the total inbound and outbound aircraft. When searching for flights, results will show the route, stage of flight and the username/callsign.

Search has the ability to be expanded in the near future, with plans to incorporate search by: airlines, stage of flight and virtual organisation.

✓ Animated markers [PRO]

Plane icons move across the map, accurately reflecting the live position. Great when viewing the busy inbound traffic.

✓ Early access to new features [PRO]

Subscribers will have access to all the upcoming features before anyone else.

A comprehensive list of features for both the basic and Pro plans, and pricing, can be found here: Infinite View. PLEASE NOTE THAT PRO SUBSCRIPTIONS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON LAUNCH DAY (2024-10-02T23:00:00Z), ALLOWING US TO ASSESS INITIAL SERVER TRAFFIC FIRST!

If you are accessing Infinite View on launch day, you may see some incomplete flightpaths and incorrect scheduling. This is due to the backend server being restarted prior to launch, and cached flight data is subsequently lost. Flights that started after the server launch should have no issues.

Thank you for making it this far! Please try out Infinite View, and if you have any feedback, encounter issues (fingers crossed for a smooth launch!), or have ideas for new features, feel free to reach out to me via PM or email:

Finally, a big thanks to all the beta testers and @Cameron for all the help over the years with the API!

See you all in the virtual skies,
Will

Insane work. Love how we can see the most tracked flight, very nice feature!

But could the color of the aircraft be changed as an option? It doesn’t look that nice in black.

Does this mean if I search eg: “Emirates” will it show me all the aircrafts with an emirates livery?

Will have a look at alternative colours! Also, that black bar at the bottom of the screenshot isn’t supposed to be there. Have you added the site to your home screen, or are you viewing it directly from a browser?

That’s the plan!

Great website seems like you put alot effort to make it

Great finally someone is doing it. Maybe also add the ability to sort them by aircraft type. If it is not hard.

Congratulations for being released; unfortunately, when I click on the website, it shows me a black screen.

What device and browser are you using?

Opened website on PC on google chrome

Found this “bug” whilst tracking random flights, Is this normal? cause the altitude doesn’t seem to be changing

Looks like a cool project! Good job!

Ah, that’s because the flight is cruising at 40,000 ft, which is right at the boundary between two colors. As the altitude varies slightly, the colors will shift back and forth. I’ve adjusted the boundary now, so it should correct itself with a page refresh.

Hmm, it seems to be working fine on Chrome for me. Could you check for any errors by accessing the developer console (F12)? Thanks.
