Infinite Flight Wonders - A Growing List

Hello, IFC

If you are like me, then you likely fly between JFK, LAX and LHR with the occasional small GA airport. In my opinion, this can get quite repetitive. For all of you that are looking for some beautiful, niche and hidden airports to visit in IF, this is the list for you.

In this list, there are currently 54 airports in Every Continent. Please expand this list using the form at the bottom of this page.

Europe
Tivat

Features a circle to land on one side, and a so called “highway” visual approach on the other (named after the highway it follows)

Cristiano Ronaldo

The approach is pretty challenging. You remain on downwind and then turn onto a very short final. It is also a tabletop runway meaning pilots need to react according to the GPWS callouts. The island itself is absolutely beautiful

Münster Osnabrück

The Approch to Runway 25 is a bit special as the Aircrafts Turn near the city Osnabrück to runway heading then they pass the Teutoburger Forrest low and continue decendingvall the way passing an German Autobahn and directly after that an canal and because of that canal and old regulations the tuch down point is not at the begining of the runway. Because those old rules say that an Aircraft isn’t allowed to fly lower that an minimum altitude above an canal as there were lot of smoke from thoses ships. And it still applies for today.

Hidden in the French Alps, this small and hidden airport is a natural beauty that I highly recommend visiting.

This airport in France is located right on the coast, near the beautiful city of Saint Malo, and is a quick hop away from the beautiful Mont Saint Michel.

A regional airport nestled in the famous Adirondack Park. As you fly in, you can take in the beautiful scenery of some of the most remote locations of New York state. It is located very near Lake Placid, a small village nestled in the lush green mountains which has hosted the Winter Olympic Games twice.

Short runway perfectly suited for GA flying. Enjoy a scenic approach over the Atlantic Ocean into one of the most popular weekend destinations for New York City Residents. Fun fact: Montauk is the easternmost point of the state of New York, located on Long Island, and it stretches so far east that New York shares a maritime border with Rhode Island.

This little airport is a hidden gem to Canada. It’s hidden right on the border of British Columbia in Jasper, Alberta. This remote airport is a little grass strip that is wedged in a valley between the beautiful Canadian Rockies.

This small airstrip is located on Eliza Island, WA. The plot twist is that the island contains nothing except the airport! Short runways and water skimming are what Eliza is all about!

Ranger Creek

I might be a bit biased, but in my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful airports in the world. Located between two mountains at the base of Mt. Rainier, this airstrip is a true natural treasure.

Uluru (aka Ayers Rock) is Australia’s largest natural rock. It can be found in Central Australia where it provides an amazing scenic experiences with the glistening red dirt surrounding.

This particular Kenyan airstrip contains a very short runway with a mountain on one end, making it very difficult to land at!

Tawau

Located near the Malaysian-Indonesian border, with the Philippines just a short 10 minutes away. It is a popular destination due to clear blue waters off the coast to the east, not to mention, the arriving airport to what is often considered the best diving destination in the world - Sipadan Island, home to the Barracuda Point, its main attraction.

I have these: TNCA, TNCC and ofcourse TNCB. Rarely anyone ever goes to these airports, maybe Aruba, but not the other ones

KIND-Indianapolis Even though it is not 3D there are three different runways to depart from and it is a good distance from short flights to Detroit or Chicago but also has lots of flights to Florida. It also has a delta flight to Paris but it uses the 767 and there is not a rework yet.
