It’s a shame that infinite flight moved from Twitter to blue sky. I realized that I have not been getting regular updates that I oh, so loved in the past because the team decided to move to a different platform. I can only assume why, but I don’t want to spark any sort of debate. It’s just saddening. Looking at the follower account on Twitter 42.1k to Bluesky’s 1.7k is shocking and shows how much this move does not accommodate to the majority of people that just want to keep up-to-date without having to log onto this platform instead. I just wonder if they are ever going to decide to move back. I don’t know if anybody feels the same as me, but it’s just kind of a tough pill to swallow.

Personally not a fan of BlueSky either, but I’m sure they had their reasons for the switch. They do still post on Facebook if you prefer that.

IF has frequent updates on Facebook and Instagram, check them out there! Never heard of BlueSky.

While I don’t want to speculate, I believe Infinite Flight had a reason for moving from X to BlueSky. If I had to take a guess, the IF team felt that the politics that X (namely X’s CEO) supported were so far out of line with their own that they didn’t want to support the platform anymore.
It undoubtedly alienates some of their followers, but it was certainly a calculated decision.
Even though they’re no longer active on X, and you don’t have BlueSky, they still post regularly on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and of course this forum. Additionally, they share update information on the official Discord server.

correct, and it’s sad that the rest of us have to suffer the consequences of a strictly political move if that was the reason in the first place. I understand they’re on other platforms and that’s nice, but they are all Meta platforms except for this online community. Oh well, what can you do.
It’s definitely mostly an American thing based on my understanding. They’re pretty similar to X, and they bill themselves as an alternative to the site. They grew pretty explosively after the 2024 US Presidential Election, when X’s CEO Elon Musk got involved more directly in politics, and BlueSky became sort of a “liberal” alternative to X.
