Hi, I’m interested in purchasing a phone case that is not included in the current options or latest phones. Do you plan to add older devices (Cases) in the future? Not everyone can renew their devices every year 😏

@Matt93 Two different issues you’re relating there :) First one is that Infinite Flight manages to run on many devices thanks to the developers’ hard work to optimize for older devices. Of course, as the developers have said before, with new advances in tech comes the ability to increase the experience and add more high-demand features, and in doing so device requirements will rise over time. It sounds like those newer Androids are running it well for you based on your comment.

Second the store is new and simply to help fans like us show some extra support. Like Jason said, if they don’t offer a case, it’s because they’re not satisfied with the quality. They may add more later. Not much you can do but it doesn’t mean you should upgrade just to buy a $20 case 😂

Plus it tends to be the case that major suppliers don’t sell or continue to sell good cases once another model is released. Probably a big impact for this specifically.

And yes I don’t think anyone’s expecting you to have to upgrade every year. I bought an iPad Pro last year after a long and well-running time with an original iPad Air. Like I said, to help include features we all want (clouds, dynamic lighting, buildings) the developers need to wait for the tech, and once the tech makes it possible they can only optimize back so many models. But I think they do a decent job on that and I’m sure they’ll continue, knowing their user base comprises many models. Having a recent upper-end model, while it may not give you a case, should allow you to run Infinite Flight for a while

I do appreciate your comments @Rock77 and I thank you for your opinion.

This is more than just a phone case really. I cannot wait till Project Metal is released. This is to see the improvements promised. I hope to see major UI/UX improvements to Android (Seeing as I run Android not iOS) The current Android app is bad, the text is cut off the edge of the screen and general slowness in the app. It appears to me that Android is not optimised to run this app as well as it is on iOS. Maybe that’s Infinite Flights biggest platform, who knows?

We spend considerable amounts of time optimising Android (usually it gets more attention than iOS), and we’re hoping to bring more performance improvements with Project Metal which should help in certain scenarios. General slowness will usually come down to the device and the graphics settings being set too high for it to handle.

For specific bugs like text cut off the screen, please post a support topic with information and we’ll gladly look into it if we can. We ran the Open Beta to help find obscure, device-specific bugs like these, but I haven’t seen a specific report for this issue. Thanks Matt!
