Infinite flight performance

Hi there! I am having issue with infinite flight performance. I lag in the cockpit and HUD view getting down to the lowest of 32 FPS but in the outside view I can gain to 50-60 FPS. My device is an iPhone 13 around like 4-3 years old and I have iOS 18.5 the most recent. I just reinstalled the app and clear cache, delete replays etc. The lag happens in a little crowded airports like today in KJFK I was taking off then lag just messed my takeoff up leading me to have a bumpy lift. I have 256 GB of storage and I have used 50 so I don’t think that is a problem. My infinite flight settings are [Rendering: Low] [Density: Medium] [Textures: Medium] [Resolution: Medium] Aliasing is Off. Airplane count is at very high since I like seeing a packed airport. And help is appreciated!

Presumably, any lag affecting controllability would occur at a frame rate well below 32? When performance really started to stutter, were you closely monitoring whether that number had in fact dropped significantly below 32?

Considering it’s a device of 3 years and 8 months, I would definitely expect some frame drop when you put the camera to render the high quality animated cockpits of the reworked aircraft specially at busy airports. I would start by lowering the Airplane count down, try lowering your graphics or if you just want a more stable frame rate, I would change it from 60fps to 30fps.

I have a Galaxy S21 with as much RAM as you, and have no issued flying in single player. If you fly there, do you have the same frame drop issues? If not, then that’s where you’ll have to fly until you get something more powerful.

It only has frame drops while near a busy airport, I tried the camera to HUD and it doesn’t improve. But surprisingly while in exterior view I gain MORE fps than in any other.

Yeah I do have an FPS counter on the side, I was only checking the frame like once every 10 second or when i noticed a significant frame drop.

30 FPS is a little too jittery for me to fly I have tried both and 60 FPS made me do my landing a bit better and it doesn’t strain my eyes too much.

I see. Like I said above, you can try lowering your settings a bit more to achieve a more stable frame rate but all devices performance unfortunately decreases over time and won’t have the same peak performance it had 3 years ago.

I personally wouldn’t use the 60fps setting on a device that old.

I had an iPhone 13 until the beginning of this year and max graphics worked fine on it (disregarding the amount of heat produced)

If I’m being totally honest, that probably didn’t help your device’s performance. It likely resulted in it degrading faster than ideal and leading to the issues you are experiencing now.

Yeah I guess that’s true

This.

It’s highly likely that your device is thermal throttling.

I would use 30 FPS but I just can’t deal with how laggy it looks.
