Infinite flight on PC

Infinite flight has alot of amazing diversity compared to alot of flight sims out there. But imagine if Infinite flight came to PC. With project metal in the works it would be amazing to see a PC expansion. Like with certain keybinds could activate parts of auto pilot, landing gear scroll through flaps settings and spoilers. You scroll through the systems by selecting systems and using the scroll wheel to go through the systems and use your cuser to select what system you want to control. Or have like the arrow keys on the side of your mouse select trim. I mean the possibilities are endless. The only thing that would be required is a yoke with the option to set up your own equipment if you can afford it. So not only could you have Infinite Flight on your mobile but you could have it on your pc as well. Even macrohard flight sim couldn’t compete with that. Hell Infinite Flight could even make server specifically for PC users if needed in order to avoid over loading the current servers. I mean just think about the possibilities. I hope project metal brings an expanded and enhaced version to pc users. It would be so amazing. I for one would definitely have to try out a pc version. The sim would also have alot less problems with the sim crashing as well if you have a modern day gaming pc.

This will most likely never happen seeing as Infinite Flight is a mobile flight sim only. Beat @BennyBoy_Alpha, with his insane one minute response time.

The devs have said on multiple occasions that they have no plans on making a public PC version of Infinite Flight.

But imagine if they did. With the amount of demand it’s surprising that the development team would take advantage of the demand. This could not only make them more money but also bring more people to the community who don’t like flying on mobile sims but rather fly on pc.

Except the standard for PC sims is way higher. Compared to X-Plane and MSFS, well…

I think that the reason they don’t want to bring it to PC is because then for aircraft that are not reworked there would be some modders out there to take it up on themselves to make like a 767 rework mod. But honestly would that be such a bad thing tho? It would reduce the load on the development team and even then they could make it to where if you can make a reworked mod then make to where it could be approved by the developers to add it into the sim. Much like how jet photos has standards of photos infinite flight could have set standars for aircraft reworks or even livery additions.

Stardards maybe high for macrohard flight sim users and x-plane users but i think the development team could keep up, not only that but set new standards that could blow all of the other sims out of the competition.

All that would be required really is just a yoke with a trim setting like the ones on the ERJs in real life. The rest of the control surfaces is all keyboard and mouse. But later on with development you could add in your own equipment to expand your flight sim experience.

No, it’s because they intended to create a top mobile flight sim, and not a PC one. Lol

That’s what they limit themselves to but doesn’t mean there is no room for improvement or expanding their horizons to other possibilities. Not only would the sim and developers benefit but also the community would benefit as well bringing more people to the community.

I honestly just don’t think it makes sense. The appeal of IF is that it’s mobile. If you are playing on a PC, just get MSFS or XPlane. Better graphics and physics, and compatibility. IF would be doing a lot of work for an already saturated market, so not a good move at all from a business stand point. Also, not that many people are asking for IF to be PC compatible.

But macrohard and x-plane don’t have the amount of diversity that infinite flight has unless you pay for mods. Even then there are not enough mods on those sims to make it worth trying out. On infinite flight you have all planes and liveries for 10$ a month or 85$ a year, which is basically the cost of 1 mod for macrohard flight sim plus the equipment that is required to fly on macrohard flight sim. So infinite flight could be for people who not only want to save money but also have way more. Not to mention that fact that Infinite Flight is much more community based while macrohard flight sim and X-plane are more solo and graphics based.

We’re already doing that, within our own business which isn’t PC simming.
There are great options there already and not to forget, it comes with a lot of other caveats as well. Supporting a very crazy amount of different hardware combo’s, drivers and what not.

IF’s whole mission statement is to create the best mobile flight simulator (something they’ve already achieved!)
Just because you want it doesn’t mean others do nor is it easy

From a marketing perspective InfiniteFlight is in a great position…to be able to direct all their resources to a mobile flight sim actually puts them in a unique situation.

And it shows, with how much quality the app has and especially the continuous improvements we see and WILL be seeing.

If they focused on adding a PC variant, not only do they have to allocate more resources to developing it, they take away those resources that make the mobile app great…which will cause delays between the updates. On top of that, they become less unique as a Flight Simulator in general.

Tl;dr, the mobile flight sim market is where IF shines

but so do people with all different kinds of mobile devices. So you already have to accommodate older phones vs newer phones which you can do the same thing with PC with different graphic settings which you already have integrated in the sim already

and just because you don’t want it does mean others don’t either.

That sentence hurt my brain :brain:

also they wouldn’t become less unique because infinite flight would actually become more unique because not only would it be the best mobile flight sim but it could be the first mobile flight sim to have a a PC addition. X-plane doesn’t count either because their mobile version doesn’t even load at all most of the time. Also, they don’t set deadlines anyways so what kind of delays would you be talking about? Also I did mention that others could also provide rework mods of their own because lets be honest there are passionate aviation nerd here who would be happy to make aircraft reworks. All infinite flight would need is to set standards for mods and then passionate modders would have something to base their mods. Then send their mod to the infinite flight development team to approve it for their next update. Which would make this entire community full of resources. They already currently do that with the 3D modeling for airport updates.

well maybe you should think before assuming that no body wants a PC expansion.
