Infinite Flight fpl converter website

Hi,

I am wondering if I’m the only one who has a lot of difficulties with fpltoif.com. In the last couple of months it happens a lot that the website doesn’t respond or simply crashes. It doesn’t matter what platform or browser I use.

Kind regards,
Eric

Its EOL at some point soon anyway

Due to the end of support to that website I would recommend learning how to make flight plans by hand or using other websites such as sim brief and changing a couple of points manually.

Thank you for the dedication you put into the app over the years, Ondrej. Although it is a pity as it is one of the best flight planning apps there is, I can certainly understand. I already use Simbrief for the times fpltoif.com isn’t working, but it is much more difficult to use and interpret.

Thank you again for the work and dedication you put into it, I’m sure a lot of people are going to miss fpltoif.com!

Kind regards,
Eric

This isn’t my first choice
Ever tried simbrief.com ?

You’ve got Chris_S to thank for developing fpltoif not me. I too will miss it.

Jeff Atwood always said Reading is fundamental.

On the topic of Simbrief, I quite like using it now as you can see…

plus its easy to go back, change stuff and re-do a flight.

If you want to learn about flight planning I would recommend watching this detailed video I made months ago.

It uses FPLtoIF for short and medium haul. I have showcased towards the end with super long hauls. Try using Simbrief to generate a flight plan and then put it into flight plan decoder on FlightPlannerDataBase. Then click on Infinite Flight. I had to do that with a Munich to Houston flight plan because all the real life flight plans I tried to get from RadarBox or FlightAware they would only show the STAR.

Also for London FIR airpace make sure you only stick to Airways that are north or south of the airpace. There was some bug in aircrafts navigation system last year so they had to do an entire overhaul on the UK airpace. Infinite Flight hasn’t been updated with those new waypoints yet and are still using the old system before the overhaul. They were only able to recover the northbound and south bound of London Heathrow anything that goes directly west of London Heathrow towards the tracks will not be up to date.

So make sure you also map out airways that use the old system using FlightRadar24’s high altitude navaid settings to keep your flight plan within infinite flight standards.

Basically avoid these airways that pass over LHR

Will you be back ?

Ask @ Chris_S :)

But the answer is no it won’t be back hence the advanced warning in the topic I linked above.
