I have done long hauls in the past, up to KEWR to WSSS on my iPhone 7. I always have only IF, IF-A and IF-O open. However, I woke up this morning and my phone was asleep, after starting EGLL to YSSY last night. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me, as it has happened to me on my first-gen iPad Pro 12.9 inch as well. Both devices are on iOS 13 and iPadOS 13, respectively. I’m assuming this probably has something to iOS 13’s memory management or smth, as it never happened on iOS 12 and before.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this issue? I love doing long-hauls, and it would be a shame to not be able to do them
IOS 13 always has some problems regrading Infinite Flight. I would recommend using lower graphics to prevent crashing. This probably won’t work that well, it will just reduce the risk
I mean idk iphone 7 getting old, running 2 extra apps in the background would probably be a start. Yea you may not have had issues, that’s how it was with my old iphone 6. Could do 20 hour flights after a month or so of doing those flights it could barley do a 10 hours flight. Let alone run two apps in the background. My answer is no apps in the background try again and see if that helps. and do what @infiniteflight_schoo said. Once you’re at cruise, lower all settings. Have AA on and the battery saver enabled. There’s no point in keeping a device at anything but lower when doing a long haul. It’s just a waste of space.
That happen to my ipad when i was flying from miami to sao Paulo 8 hours when descenting my game freeze for cuple mins i don’t know why i after few mins it quit!
If your app freezes sometimes that’s related to an internet issue. Losing connection and getting it back, a lot in a sort span, can sometimes cause the game to freeze then crash. But either make a thread in #support or shoot me a pm so we can discuss 👍
There can be any number of reasons for this to happen.
Try again without add on applications running and see if it is any different.
Try with lowered graphics settings before leaving the device unattended
Before long flights most people will reboot the device to clear anything out and make sure other background apps are not running. Twitter, Facebook, etc that take up valuable resources.
iOS 13 is more sensitive to resources. Make sure that your device is updated to the latest patch and that Infinite Flight is also updated to the latest as well.
I just realized I forgot I’m on the developer preview. I also forgot to reboot. I’ll install the latest developer beta, and see if it helps. I’ll do another long flight in a little while. Maybe not 20 hours tho, since i’ve flown both of those flights nearly to the end, before an app crash or an internet outage. I’ll try maybe a 13 hour flight tonight.
This could be the old device I had a 2.5 year old iPod that I used couldn’t make a 7hour flight but now with a new iPhone 8 I just did a 14 from Vancouver to Hong Kong. The 7 is old but that could be my low storage also on my ipod.
