Inappropriate call signs

Linda,
To stop these violations please ask your son to look at ground speed and not air speed. Ground speed will give your son the correct speed when taxing so he will not go over 35kts without knowing it. I am very sorry to hear about what happened with your son and want to confirm that bad callsigns are an instant 60 minute ghosting on the advanced server. I hope that this won’t ever happen again to your son and thank you for bringing up the issue.

@AviationX & Linda. As a Great Grandfather with a big brood I personally identify with the problem! As noted there is a free “Free Flight” node that is family friendly which my younger grand children play with enthusiasm with Pop’s guidance and oversight. Please allow your youngster to continue with IF on the “free flight” node. Our extended family find this App offers a valuable education.experience. As your youngster grows so will his interest in science, technology and aeronautical knowledge which both you and the child will benefit from. I join my compatriots in there commiserations! I’m confidant that the fine & responsible staff at FDS will address this well known problem in the newr term. Warm Regards to you and your! Max Sends

@AviationX: Good evening, Linda.

First, I would like to reassure you that no additional violations are received on the Advanced server- both the Advanced and Playground servers have the same sort of violations applicable to them. Specific situations, such as taxiing above 35 knots of ground speed, as @masonh2479 was kind enough to point out, or doing crazy aerobatics with airliners, will result in a violation. There is no difference between those two servers in those sort of terms. The Free Flight server, however, will allow anyone to perform any “crazy” action or stunt as they wish.

The dedicated controllers on the advanced server will not tolerate inappropriate callsigns such as this. Any and all derogatory callsigns will result in a sixty-minute ghost (temporary ban) from the advanced server by any controller who happens to spot it.

Personally, in order to maximize safety, the advanced server is the best way to go for your child. Each and every controller who controls on there must be authorized and have taken a test beforehand- the professionalism of the ATCs on there are assured. If you, in any way, have an issue with a controller on there, however, contact a supervisor (such as myself) or the appointed moderators of the ATC team. Our controllers are expected to maintain a standard of quality and professionalism- any of them will be subject to removal, demotion, or suspension if caught in a stance of unprofessionalism or “trolling actions,” such as ghosting people wrongly, spamming commands, and so forth.

@Maxmustang does have a good point about the Free Flight server, however. It is still subject to possible trolling actions and derogatory callsigns, though. The Advanced server still offers the best “shelter” in most aspects and will provide ATCs to help, service, and educate your son as he ventures through Infinite Flight.

If you have any questions about how the advanced server works, do not hesitate to PM me.

@StikLover2… Josh, we are talking about an 8 year old. Are you suggesting or advocating 8 year olds operating successfully on the Advanced?

(Note this child has an XP of 36,000 the qual for the Advanced is 25,000 he a candidate. Somethings radically wrong with the Quals.)

I personally disagree with most of the responses on this thread.

Firstly, I would not be letting an 8 year old ‘play’ on an app that has direct involvement with real people via an online platform. The example given by Linda is just one reason. There is no need to pay for a ‘Live’ subscription for an 8 year old to interact with a multitude of other people, including adults. He should simply be playing in the standard ‘free’ solo version of the app.

To everyone saying he should play on the advanced server - have you not read the name of the server? ‘ADVANCED’… This kid (and I’m in no way trying to discourage or mock him - he’s only 8 years old - and he’s doing damn good if he can fly around and land aircraft on IF) does not even understand the 35knot ground speed rule. He would not have an understanding of ground speed V airspeed. This could be argued as one of the most basic fundamentals of flying! Why, why, why, should I be forced to pay $70 to fly on an ‘ADVANCED’ server, where I am flying with an 8 year old child who could not possibly grasp the basic fundamentals of aviation, let alone be considered ‘advanced’…

The word ‘advanced’ means absolutely nothing in this app. The entire ‘live’ aspect and its servers are a joke. Here are the self-proclaimed ATC Experts who are above everyone else because they can flick through the ATC interface faster than others, suggesting an 8 year old child should be on the advanced server. Please.

To Linda, again, this is no attack on you or your son. I strongly encourage him to play Infinite Flight. I simply suggest he plays in solo mode due to his age and abilities.

To anyone else saying he should play on the advanced server for the ‘moderated’ aspect, please, have a read over what you are writing. Don’t bring up the ‘we can ghost him if he’s not at the required level’ argument - how does that help him? His mom pays for a subscription, he gets ghosted (and he’ll have no idea why) and we are back to square one.

Pretty entertaining to read this thread knowing that many who replied here probably aren’t that much older than 8!

I would like to point out I think your son requested voice features in advanced server. There’s no technology exist to filter out curse words in live. we have to keep that in mind there are some things hard to control.

Yes and there could also be predators using infinite flight to contact your children. Beware!

Someone understands!

@Maxmustang it’s back! So now I withdrew the second one ha!

My son is probably more experienced than you are.

Ok @AviationX. All I can say is goodluck to your son in life if that’s the attitude you have and he is being brought up with.

There was three instances in my post where I tried to protect your son, make him enjoy the game more and to save you money, and I even complimented him! But anyway… There’s no point to this thread anymore. Do what you want lady!

@MitchellJames is seemingly a very accomplished pilot, especially based off of the knowledge that he has posted in this forum. I wouldn’t jump to such conclusions, especially if your son does not know how to taxi at the correct ground speed which is only the tip of the iceberg

Especially odd that you are attacking someone under a topic in which you are complaining about your son being indirectly attacked.

Completely agree.
