In Memory of the 9/11 terrorist attacks

On this day, 23 years ago, one of the most devastating events in history occurred in the United States. Early in the morning, terrorists hijacked four planes. Two crashed into the Twin Towers in New York, leading to their collapse. Another hit the Pentagon, and the fourth plane was heroically overtaken by its passengers but crashed before reaching its target.

This tragedy shook the world. In unity, we mourn the victims and remember their sacrifice. Such an atrocity must never happen again.

In honour of this day, I flew following path:

I used the legacy 767-300 in the old AA livery.

Here are some pictures:

What a horrific day in not just American history but world history. This is an ACARS message sent to aircraft in the New York area that day.

That’s cool @Mort ! I did pretty much the same thing last year on 9/11

That’s nice of you to remember the victims of 9/11. It’s a shame no one really cares in this generation. (Like literally no one in my class was really bothered).

I agree. I feel like 9/11 had been so known about and it was all over social media, so people put it to the back of their mind

Some kid at my school said it was fine to joke about. I’m not one to get easily offended, but this kind of made me upset. My guy was born in 2007 or 2008, so ofc you’d think it’s funny. Those born post 9/11, such as myself, may not be able to see the true horrors since we weren’t alive to witness it.

Same, I’ve heard many jokes about it but it just isn’t right or morally respectful.

Let’s hope he learns his lesson in one way or another…only time can do that.

I care about 9/11 (My teacher was a student in NY at the time of the crashes and he saw the tower fall) R.I.P to all those 2,996 people who died

this might seem a bit dark, but isnt the bank angle of the horizon the same as of the plane which hit the first tower?

As a New Yorker, listening to my parents and friends and families stories is crazy. Life has changed a lot since then.

Not really a topic to have jokes about :)
