In-Flight Assistant Glitch?

Hello Everyone!

I came to post this topic today as I have been having an issue with In-Flight Assistant lately that is starting to get on my nerves. Every once and a while, and I mean rarely, I will be doing a flight using In-Flight assistant and midway through the flight, the app will put the gear down. Because I tend to mainly us In-Flight assistant to step climb for me on a long flight and I am not actively monitoring my device when this happens I tend to come back to a throttle at 100% N1 and a dangerously low speed. So far this has not caused me to stall knock on wood however it is incredibly annoying.

The thing that caused me to make this post today was that this issue happened to me twice in a span of 30 minutes today and I am getting sick of it, to be honest. I also wanted to see if anything can be done to fix the issue and if others that use In-Flight Assistant have ever experienced this issue?

Thanks,
@Captain_Finck

Your issue is not with IFA. It doesn’t have ability to automate any aircraft systems.

Well that is what I was thinking but this issue only happens when I am using IFA…

Are you step climbing too early? What plane did it happen on?

I don’t think it has anything to do with step climbing as I have had no problems with that in the past. In regards to aircraft, it has happened on the 737, 777, etc. I don’t remember ever aircraft it has happened on but it is a variety of them.

Have you sent a PM to @epaga ? I believe he’s the developer behind it, furthermore, he’s a very busy man, so be have patience in how long it may or may not take him to answer:)

Yep I was hoping he would see this. I mainly created this topic to see if anyone else had experienced the issue or if it was just me.

Do you happen to use the voice command feature of IFA?

No, I do not.

If you aren’t using voice command, then it isn’t IF Assistant’s problem, it has to do with something else likely

I remembered this being an issue, so I went through the app’s main topic and found this:

It did have to do with Voice Commands.
Deleting and reinstalling the app seems to be the solution.

I can’t remember if I ever ran into this issue myself.
I only used Voice Commands during testing.

As far as I can remember, there haven’t been any other reports of spontaneous gear down situations, so it doesn’t seem to be a common issue.

Let me know if reinstalling the app helps.

This is my exact issue. I will try reinstalling the app when I get home and let you know. Thanks!

Hey there!

I reinstalled the app, we will see if that dose the trick. Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for helping out, Jan! Yes, this almost certainly is a voice command issue, there is no other code that sends any gear commands to IF. Reinstalling may reset the Voice Commands somehow?
