I’ve been playing Infinite Flight since 2015. A lot of improvements have been made so far, and it might even be in a better state than most PC simulators out there. However, there is one feature I’ve always wanted throughout this 11-year journey. The only reason I’m mentioning it just now is that I wasn’t really aware of how active the forum was back then.
Anyway, getting straight to the point: as you might have noticed, night flights are way darker than they should be. There are practically no city lights, and exterior aircraft lighting is lacking. I believe most of us, including myself, end up flying in daytime mode during takeoff and landing because of this.
At the very least, night satellite imagery could be added to enhance how cities look at night, even if it’s rendered artificially. The rudder/vertical stabilizer could be illuminated with a simple light texture, and the landing lights could illuminate the runway much more effectively.
I truly believe adding these kinds of night lighting features would make night flying so much more enjoyable. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!
I completely agree with this. Night operations in Infinite Flight would feel much more realistic with proper city lights and improved exterior aircraft lighting. I especially like the idea of making night takeoffs and landings more immersive, rather than having to rely on daytime mode for better visibility. Hopefully, this is something the developers can consider in a future update.
From Laura — no guarantee that all this will happen this year, likelihood is very slim, but it is coming, just might take a few years for it to all be fully rolled out.
