Important notice about the Live API (v1)

Hey @api!

In 2020, we reworked and modernised our backend used across Infinite Flight. As part of this, we launched an updated web API for third party developers to replace our original “Live API”.

As of today, we are deprecating v1 of the Live API and it will be disabled on March 1st 2021.

We are no longer providing bug fixes or support for v1 from today, and after March 1st 2021, API calls to v1 will begin to fail.

Next steps

  • If you use v1 of the API and want to upgrade, and you don’t have an API key for v2, please message me. Please note API keys are individual and should not be shared.

  • v2 of the API has a request limit of 100 requests per minute. If you exceed this and need a higher limit, please let me know

  • If you are using the FlightDetails.aspx endpoint on v1, this is now available on v2.

What’s new in v2?

  • We have modernised and future-proofed the API, with a new authentication system and optimised performance.

  • Added new username fields to flights and ATC controllers (IFC username), added a new virtual organization field to flights

  • New user stats API that is a lot cleaner and focused.

  • Grade info endpoint with updated requirements

  • Flight Plan endpoint with coordinate information for waypoints

  • More frequent updates based on feedback

Ouch. Looks like I’ve got some work ahead of me that I’ve been putting off for too long… 😖

Ahhh wait I misread, I thought you meant the Connect API. breathes major sigh of relief

Meanwhile, I have some work to do since some parameters have changed to lowercase. Shouldn’t take too long (I hope…,)
