I’ve had similar recently - it was never a problem before (I’m using the same device)

Without better information (please correct if wrong), I assume this AI response is within reason?:

“Yes, a 40-megapixel limit is quite common for platforms like Discourse. This size ensures that images are of high quality while also being manageable in terms of storage and bandwidth. It strikes a balance between allowing detailed images and maintaining performance and usability for users.”

Megapixels is a unit for measuring the amount of pixels in a photo and is calculated by multiplying the length (in pixels) by the height (in pixels). 40MP for example could be 8000x5000 resolution or anything that would multiply to 40000000 pixels

To fix this, you can crop the image so that the dimensions are smaller and don’t multiply to 40MP, take a lower resolution photo, or take a screenshot of the photo on your phone (this method does noticeably take away some quality though)

To see MP and dimensions on iPhone, you can press the ‘i’ button when you are looking at the image
