How do I know altitude to intercept ILS?
If you’re on an active approach frequency, they will usually intercept you between 2,000 and 3,000 ft above the airports altitude.
The best way is to maintain 3000ft AGL, and intercept the localizer at 30 degrees or less.
Check the airfield altitude so you can work out what 3000ft AGL is.
