i have a question regarding to ils approach, that is do we need to wait until the green diamond to be established to enable the APPR, or can we enable APPR early and will the aircraft wait until the green diamond to be established and then start descending following the GS? im asking this because i only enable the APPR when the green diamond came in range and suddenly the aircraft will turn to a massive bank angle and nose dive to stabilize the localiser( i already set it to NAV 1)
You want to engage APPR when below the glide slope (so when the diamond is above the middle of the vertical bar next to the altitude).
Also, with the localiser, try not to be more than 30 degrees offset to the final approach heading.

so i can turn it on early and just wait at my maintained altitude until the aircraft descent itself?
tysm. appreciate it
I think you just set NAV 1 LNAV first to align with runway heading, maintaining a published altitude (e.g. 4000 feet MSL), before activating APPR mode and disengaging ALT mode to let the plane descend right during green diamond capture.
