IFSpotters — A photo database for Infinite Flight screenshots

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on IFSpotters, a photo database for screenshots taken in Infinite Flight.

https://ifspotters.com

Why

Most of our screenshots end up in a Discord channel and scroll away within a day. There’s no way to come back later and find “that A350 shot someone took at Haneda.”

IFSpotters indexes every photo by aircraft type, livery and airport, so it can actually be searched and browsed rather than scrolled past.

What it does

  • Upload your screenshots with aircraft, livery, airport, server and category
  • Browse and filter by aircraft, airline, airport, category and server
  • Search across aircraft, airlines, airports and photographers
  • Access ranking — most viewed over the last 12h / 24h / 1 month
  • Photographer profiles — everything one person has posted, in one place
  • Likes and view counts on every photo
  • English and Japanese

A few things I put effort into

Livery names come from the Live API. When you pick an aircraft, the airline dropdown narrows to the liveries that actually exist for that aircraft in Infinite Flight — all 1,100+ of them. No typing “Brtish Airways” and having it become its own category.

Airports accept anything. ICAO, IATA, airport name or city name. RJTT, HND, haneda and tokyo all get you to the same place. Both codes are stored, so filtering works either way.

No tail registrations. I originally built around them, then dropped them: the Live API doesn’t return registrations and there’s no authoritative list, so it would have been unverifiable self-reporting. Aircraft + livery is the pair that can actually be trusted.

Images are handled for you. Anything over 5 MB is compressed in your browser before upload — no need to resize anything yourself.

Posting rules

Photos are published immediately, not queued for review. There are guidelines covering the obvious things — no HUD or UI in frame, aircraft as the subject, metadata matching the photo, no heavy editing. Anything that breaks them can be taken down afterwards with a reason attached.

Free accounts can post 5 photos a day. There’s an optional Pro tier that raises that; browsing and searching are free for everyone and always will be.

Notes

This is an unofficial fan project. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Infinite Flight. I did check in with the Infinite Flight team before posting this, and I’m following the Live API guidelines — nothing from the API is stored on my side.

Airport data comes from OurAirports.

Feedback welcome

It’s early and the photo library is small — that’s exactly why I’m posting now rather than waiting. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, tell me and I’ll fix it.

If you take screenshots in Infinite Flight, I’d love to see them on there.
