Hello @IFRN, thanks for the service. Nice job today. My callsign was F-COOP.
My only point of feedback today is that after I changed to runway 13R, when you gave “after the option, make right traffic”, I’d recommend only using left downwind. There’s a huge mountain peak on right downwind which makes it impossible to fly on right downwind. Everything else was great.
Nice work! Can’t wait to see you on the team soon.
I am camping in the woods and I am on an uneven surface so I was flying horribly.
-Transition altitude was good.
-Pattern entry was good.
-You forgot to clear me for the option after you gave me a pattern entry. I still did a touch and go anyway. Don’t forget the clearance!!!
-On another aircraft, you called their base which is the pilot’s responsibility to remain minimum VFR separation. No need for the command.
-When I was requesting inbound, you requested me to turn base yet, I was at 3000ft so a enter right downwind command would be more necessary.
-Make sure to sequence the other aircraft in the pattern (Runway 13L). The aircraft second to land needs to be get a sequence of “Number 2, traffic to follow is on…” followed by clearance.
-You told the Skywest departing the airspace to contact Oakland Center yet, the aircraft was still in LA Center. I would just say frequency change approved.
-After an aircraft is inbound for another pattern when clearing them for the option, you do not need to give them left/right traffic as you have established this when they got takeoff clearance.
That’s it! Awesome work and thanks for the service!
That was my first time handling that many aircraft on 2 runways! i was a bit rusty and used some of the wrong commands lol! thank you all for coming and for the feedback!
lol i didn’t notice there was a mountain behind me until 20 minutes through the session! i was telling people to make right traffic and sending them to their doom lol! thanks for everything!
